Job description
If you're a go-getter, involved on your campus, and want to use your skills to help improve student and recent graduates’ lives through helping them leap into their careers after their education, then we want to hear from you. We are looking for highly motivated Student Ambassadors to join our Getting Ahead family. In this position, you will increase Getting Ahead’s visibility, on campus and virtually, through various initiatives and activities, including grassroots marketing, lead generation, relationship building, social media, and more. Throughout this role, you will have a chance to demonstrate and refine your leadership skills across multiple areas and to grow your personal career profile.
The Student Ambassador role is a paid position starting at $16 CAD/hour. The hours are flexible based on business needs and your school schedule (1-5 hours per week). The position includes a paid training program with the information and tools you need to help you be a successful, while getting free access to invite-only recruitment and networking events, webinars, and workshops to help you build your profile as you get closer to graduation. This is a part-time internship starting in September through to December.

Primary/Key Responsibilities
- Develop new relationships, and establish partnerships, with influential student groups and organizations
- Use your campus knowledge and expertise to bring Getting Ahead to relevant campus activities and initiatives
- Present to students on campus to share how Getting Ahead’s community and resources will help them achieve their goals of landing their dream job once they graduate
- Create and share content through personal social media channels to engage students with the Getting Ahead brand and experience
- Execute grassroots marketing initiatives, including on-campus events, tables, fairs, flyers, and more
- Collaborate with full-time campus-focused partners to generate leads and enrollments through a variety of on-campus initiatives and social media efforts
- Use your existing connections to build and strengthen Getting Ahead’s relationships with student organizations
- Connect students who are ready to start their job search with the Getting Ahead team
Education And Experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be a proactive, self-starter and motivated with excellent time management skills
- Eager to gain valuable marketing, sales, and entrepreneurial skills
- Engaged in your campus community or an active member or leader of a student club or organization
- Able to manage multiple initiatives while working independently and remotely
- Able to work in a virtual role while staying active, engaged, and responsive with your manager
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office; specifically, Word and Excel are an asset
- Active on social media with an engaged audience and strong digital presence
- High energy with a get-it-done attitude
- Self motivated, able to work independently and know when to seek guidance
- Personal Attributes:
- Strong leadership drive
- Skilled in finding relevant student groups and fostering those relationships
- Creative problem solver & creative content creator that is able to develop engaging content (videos, posts, etc.) that can capture audiences
- Bonus: Ability to design digital content, simple video editing, etc.
- Skills:
- Level of Education: 3 rd or 4 th year student enrolled full time into a university program for the fall. Ideal candidate will be enrolled in one of the following programs: Data Science, Analytics, Engineering, Business Management, Marketing, or Communications.
