Job Description
PressReader is a rapidly growing technology company that partners with the world’s leading publishers to deliver content to millions of users in over 160 countries. Our progressive approach to digital distribution has allowed publishers such as The Washington Post, The Guardian, Newsweek, Rolling Stone, The Globe and Mail, and Vogue to find new audiences through business partnerships, including airlines, hotels, cruise ships, libraries, and thousands of other companies worldwide.

Our technology also powers Branded Editions (BE) - a white-label solution that enables publishers to deliver their digital content in interactive ways. BE allows them to build a customizable platform that supports a wide range of revenue opportunities.

We have an opportunity for an Events and Brand Activation Specialist role to join our Marketing Team.

As the Event and Brand Activation Specialist, you’re a creative project manager that can collaborate with stakeholders across multiple departments, including our Sales teams, Growth, Content Group and Branded Editions, to own the production of trade shows and internal and external events. You are capable of handling multiple projects at the same time, prioritizing effort and offering problem-solving and creative guidance.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated, highly organized and driven individual interested in creating memorable experiences that contribute to the company's success.

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate and execute integrated marketing programs to create impactful experiential events, product launches, and other activations in collaboration with stakeholders within the Marketing, Growth teams and across the organization
  • Work cross-functionally to share, advise and leverage best practices for events and overall brand activation, both for external and internal events
  • Collaborate on creating briefs for activation and marketing communications initiatives to support our Product Marketing, Content Marketing and Creative functions
  • Work with external suppliers and vendors to guarantee the production of external and internal events
  • Own the events calendar and act as a liaison between our Sales, Marketing and Growth teams to guarantee smooth delivery of trade shows and post-event reporting
  • Plan, coordinate and oversee the production and logistics of various activations, including trade shows and other internal and external events that align with the overall PressReader business strategy and drive brand awareness and engagement

You are a great fit if you have:

  • Strong attention to detail and can also see the big picture
  • At least 3+ years of experience in activation, sales, promotion or marketing positions
  • Always maintaining a positive, can-do attitude and a sense of humor.
  • Ability to work independently (self-starter) and collaboratively with other teams and departments company-wide
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written
  • A very creative, authentic, and innovative mindset for developing and engaging activation strategies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to inform decision-making
  • A highly organized and efficiency-focused approach

Bonus points if you:

  • Have experience with budget management
  • Have completed a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business Administration
  • Have experience working in the travel, libraries, tech and/or publishing industry
  • Have a strong interest in the technology sector
