Job Title: Equity Research Associate, Metals and Mining
Location: In office, Toronto ON

Responsibilities:
With an experienced team and collaborative environment, you will have the opportunity for continuous learning and professional development. As a Research Associate on the Mining Team, you will have the opportunity to develop relationships with research professionals, institutional investors and other capital markets individuals in Canada and around the world. Your primary focus will be to support the Mining Analysts by providing fundamental analysis of companies in the Mining sector including precious metals, base metals, and electric metals mining equities and related commodity research.
- Assist with writing research notes and sector reports
- Develop and enhance detailed company specific and industry macro financial models
- Analyze financial statements, company specific information and industry specific data
- Maintain relationships with coverage companies, investors and others internally
- Maintain and develop sector specific databases and presentations
Qualifications:
- Process oriented with the ability to learn quickly on the job
- Strong writing, financial modeling and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated passion for equity/financial markets and mining
- 2-3 years industry experience related to field of study (mining engineering, mining technology, geology, earth sciences, metallurgy, and/or capital markets)
- Strong computer skills (Excel) with ability to quickly learn new platforms (Bloomberg, FactSet, etc.)
- Detail oriented with solid analytical skills
- Energetic, self-motivated and an ability to perform under pressure and meet time sensitive deadlines, sometimes for extended periods of time
- Previous experience in the natural resources/extractive sector or Research related role a plus (preferred)
Educational Qualifications:
· Undergraduate degree with a focus on Applied Science (specifically Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Earth Sciences, or Geology) or Business (Finance, Accounting, Economics).
