Position Overview:
Our client is an established Canadian private equity firm with over $1B AUM and substantive track record in alternative asset investment. Currently, they are seeking a Principal / Associate to join their growing investor relations team focused on capital raising, new market/product opportunities, and ESG and sustainability initiatives. Reporting to the Managing Partner and Group Head, this role will work to support retail and institutional fundraising initiatives and firm strategic growth. The individual will interface with senior stakeholders internal and external to the organization.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of progressive experience gained in capital markets, consulting, financial advisory, equity research, investments, or investor relations. Exposure to private funds and the asset management industry is preferred. In addition, the candidate will be a thoughtful, outside the box thinker with superior communication and presentation skills.

Role Responsibilities:
- Strengthen fundraising through direct outreach to financial advisors and potential investors, along with the organization of events;
- Support with the development of new investment products, and enhancement to existing products to support strategic growth;
- Lead the creation of all key materials to facilitate investor due diligence for fund and co-investment opportunities;
- Develop thought leadership around market trends and key industry developments to drive investor interest and support senior executive outreach;
- Play a leading role in the firm’s ESG efforts including:
o Ongoing enhancements to firm and fund policies, as well as data monitoring
o Participate in various governmental, industry, and academic groups to enhance the firm’s position as a leader in ESG
o UN PRI and TCFD reporting
o Support collaboration across the firm with respect to ESG activities and priorities
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: equity research, consulting, capital markets, financial advisory, investor relations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Team player with positive attitude, comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with demonstrated ability to multitask,
- Self-motivated, proactive, well-organized and resourceful individual with a sophisticated level of attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a clear ability to communicate complex financial and analytical concepts across a wider variety of stakeholders
- Experience working with private funds and/or a deep knowledge of the asset management industry is required; knowledge of real estate, infrastructure, private equity or agriculture preferred
Please note that at present, legal eligibility to work in Canada is a prerequisite for this role.
