Overview
We are looking for an experienced Engagement Manager to work remotely in Canada and manage the organization of key client projects. As our Engagement Manager, you will coordinate people and processes to ensure that our projects are delivered on time and produce the desired results. You will be the go-to person for everything involving a project's organization and timeline. Specific project manager responsibilities include developing detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability and allocation, and delivering every project on time within budget and scope. Engagement managers should have a background in business skills, management, budgeting, and analysis. You should be an excellent communicator and comfortable managing multiple tasks. you also need to be a team player and have a problem-solving aptitude.
Responsibilities
  • Measure and report on milestones, deliverables, and critical success factor achievement
  • Work to grow the business, where applicable, by delivering above expectations and setting up correct meetings/conversations
  • Design and develop project management templates for planning and coordination activities
  • Display a high level of ownership for a given area of responsibility
  • Navigate the organizations to understand where Praecipio can deliver value
  • Liaison with other departments and recommend solutions
  • Provide clients comprehensive project notes, meeting details, action items, planning artifacts, and deliverables
  • Communicate openly with assigned resources on progress, status, identifying issues, and blockers in a timely manner to prevent or mitigate fall out
  • Ability to have difficult and pointed conversations with clients
  • Ensure proper roles are fulfilled internally, and more importantly from the client
  • Liaise with Account Manager to not only deliver initial Statement of Work (SOW) but set up growth opportunities
  • Operate as the key escalation point for the engagement, involving both internal leadership and clients when necessary
  • Ownership and administration of reporting tool applications
  • Report metrics to partners in a timely and consistent manner
  • Ensure there is a clear project plan created with deadlines the entire team understands and agrees to be accomplished
  • Engage or lead client project calls to ascertain requirements gathering, process analysis, deployment, and user acceptance testing
  • Coordinate the clearing of technical and other blockers for team members
  • Clear communication of Risks to the client and/or team
  • Coordinate internal resources in the configuration and testing of product implementations
  • Ability to set clear expectations for an engagement
  • Ensure to Maximize Mutual Benefit for all involved during any interaction
  • Lead team through initiatives aimed at meeting KPIs and CSFs
  • Identify and clear technical and other blockers for team members
  • Ability to work through Change Orders/SOWs with the client and account management
  • A high degree of comfort exercising leadership and initiative
  • Ensure accountability for adherence to the SOW, both internally and with the client
  • Effectively manage workload and oversee daily department objectives
  • Intermediate proficiency of related department applications
  • Keep the project on a timeline, while ensuring the budget is being maintained
  • Coordinate and oversee deployment implementations onto staging and production environments
  • Adherence to the scope of work and where scope creep can come into play
Requirements
  • Atlassian knowledge preferred but not required
  • Three to five years project management experience, or departmental management experience with direct reports, within software development, technology/infrastructure management, delivery, and/or IT operations
  • Practical experience successfully leading cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Working knowledge of software version control systems such as Git, Subversion, and/or Mercurial
  • Clear breadth and knowledge across various technologies with a clear depth in a handful of areas
  • Strong working knowledge of ITSM best practices such as ITIL for service activities related to release management and testing activities
  • Hosted or managed services management experience a plus
  • Bilingual (English and French) preferred but not required
  • Intermediate knowledge in Test case development and test management
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification a plus
  • Intermediate knowledge in Agile Development Principles and Team Software Development
  • ITIL Foundations certification a plus
  • JAVA, Javascript, CSS, HTML or coding experience a plus
  • An understanding of relational databases (MySQL, Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL)
