We are currently seeking to add an entry-level Electrical Engineer or Technologist to our team. This position requires an individual with strong analytical and electrical skills, computer and programming interests, and an internal drive to succeed. The organization has a customer-focused philosophy and seeks to follow Lean and TPS philosophies.
This exciting opportunity is based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Reporting directly to the Engineering Leader, the Electrical Designer will be part of a team responsible for the engineering and design functions of the company.This is an outstanding career opportunity for a product design-minded individual to play a significant role in the development of a dynamic and growing company. Responsibilities
- Some customer service troubleshooting will be required.
- Program unit-mounted PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
- Produce wiring diagrams for both customers and production.
- Assist with R & D projects.
- Program unit-mounted VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives).
- Assist in completing process documentation.
- Specify component requirements for ordering.
- Cross-training with some mechanical systems may be involved to help us support outside customers with equipment selections, unit drawings, and electrical layouts.
- Troubleshoot floor issues on the test floor.
Qualifications
- Positive attitude critical, customer service experience a plus.
- Electrical Engineering Degree or Electrical Engineering Technology diploma (considerations may be made based on other experience such as a programming background).
- Proficiency in Solidworks, AutoCAD, 3D Modeling, M(or E)RP systems, Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), and basic Microsoft Office software.
- HVAC equipment design experience (preferred).
- Good familiarity with labor-intensive settings operating with a high degree of customization and rapid product turnaround in response to customer demands.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented.
- Demonstration of strong teamwork skills.
- Lean Manufacturing (TPS) or Six Sigma experience/exposure (preferred).
