Principal Electrical Designer Jobs

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

Experience with drawing/material list for PLC & HMI Allen-Bradley and industrial networks.

Experience with EPLAN / AUTOCAD, ERP and Microsoft Office suite (Excel) is an asset.

Design and layout of control panels, network architecture (PLC and HMI).

Produce the bills of material from the I/O list.

Position is regular full-time, based on a 38-hour schedule over 4 days per week from Monday to Thursday.

Experience in BIM 360 and Inventor. Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Software

Electrical modeling software considered an asset. Instrumentation and control experience considered an asset

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an engineering environment

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technologist diploma with electrical focus or equivalent experience

Develop electrical schematics/layouts (SLD, power distribution, lighting layouts, panel schedules, load calculations, etc.) based on project deliverables

Prepare cost estimates and various reports based on collected data (power studies, ArcFlash, etc.) for Senior reviewers

Plan and perform project activities as directed by project leaders and management.

Provide remote customer troubleshooting support for delivered equipment.

Coordinate with Software Development and Mechanical Design staff to ensure electrical and software requirements match with mechanism and process design.

Bachelors' Degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering; equivalent schooling and experience will be considered

Excellent problem solving skills for electromechanical equipment

Knowledge of pneumatic technology in automation.

Assist in the analysis of drawings, specifications and requirements from both internal/external customers.

Participate in requirement and design reviews (PDRs, CDRs).

Provide technical solutions to meet project requirements.

Strong knowledge of electrical engineering concepts.

Good working knowledge of CAD systems and word processing/spreadsheet software’s.

Good technical writing and communication skills.

Demonstration of strong teamwork skills.

Positive attitude critical, customer service experience a plus.

Lean Manufacturing (TPS) or Six Sigma experience/exposure (preferred).

HVAC equipment design experience (preferred).

Deep experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes while working with cross-functional teams including development, product management, and user research.

Transform research and requirements into deliverables that demonstrate an intuitive user experience.

Work alongside and mentor design colleagues, continually elevating our design practice and quality of experiences.

Provide expertise to the Director, and Product managers for org-level decision making

8+ years of progressive responsibility in product design or user experience design roles.

Excellent communication and storytelling skills; you have the ability to help your stakeholders understand the “why” behind your design rationale.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Direct the work of junior designers and ensure the drawings are in accordance with the client requirements and relevant project specifications

Experience with SPEL, AutoCAD and Microstation design software packages, AVEVA 2D/3D is a plus

Experience with the SP3D, PDMS, PDS EERWAY 3D CAD system, participate in 3D model reviews

The ability to work within a team environment with a minimum of supervision and to Client, Company and Industry standards

The proven ability to oversee the preparation of design and detail drawings from sketches, plans or other design / specification data
