Electrical Desiner Engineer Jobs

Our client, a multi-discipline firm providing Electrical/Energy consulting engineering services to public and private sector clients is seeking a Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team of professionals.

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for applying their technical expertise to specific projects and work closely and efficiently to ensure clients are getting quality attention to support the needs of each given project.

Must have full cycle of engineering assistance/field support experience

Planning - Design - Implementation **

Design, Project Management and Project Administration knowledge is a must **

Salary: $70,000+ depending on experience

Responsibilities:

• IT infrastructure
• Fire alarm and fire suppression
• Backup generators and distributed generation (combined heat and power systems)
• Base building engineering
• Tenant fit-up
• Lighting and lighting control
• Power distribution systems
• Security and Public Address
• Incoming Building services (power, telephone, fiber optic, cable TV).

Technical Design (50% - 75% of time)

• Prepare feasibility studies an assessment reports
• Prepare power layout drawings systematic, writing drawings, and harness drawings
• Participate in the prototype testing and validation for the design
• Lead the compliance testing and certification of the equipment
• Prepare Documentation to support Site Plan Approval and Building Permit process
• Create specifications, data sheets, and bill of materials
• Prepare inspection and test plans (IIPs).
• Prepare test procedures and test plans for components and systems

Project Management (15% - 25% of time)

• Coordinate billing cycle of projects
• Lead any assigned projects to ensure the quality/standards/timelines are being met
• Exercise schedule and cost control

Project Administration (10% - 20% of time)

• Complete project administration documents/records as required
• Provide full cycle of engineering assistance and field support during installation
• Be involved in commissioning on project closeout

Education:

• LEED AP is an asset
• Fire Code/Building Code Knowledge
• Ontario Electrical Safety Code Knowledge
• University Degree/Diploma in Engineering or a related field
• PMP Designation is an asset
• Valid P.Eng. Designation
