Revenue Growth Management (RGM) Director - CANADA

The RGM Director, Canada role is critical in providing strategic leadership and delivering against the Diageo Canada agenda of balanced price and mix growth higher than the industry. This role leads a team that develops and implements value through headline pricing, trade/portfolio mix, and promotional efficiencies.


Successful candidate is an independent, resourceful, and thought-provoking individual, who will lead the DIAGEO revenue growth management agenda. This role requires robust customer management, negotiation, communication, and influencing skills.


Purpose Of Role


This role plays a key leadership position in the business, leading the RGM Team in driving discipline around RGM, commercial planning, customer planning and performance management in Canada:


  • Driving internal and external relationship building capabilities, processes, and tools in the RGM space to accelerate data insights into commercial action.
  • Championing our RGM transformation, embedding strategic growth framework across all categories, working closely with the Canadian Leadership Team and Performance Management Teams
  • Identifying key market level RGM opportunities and cascades insights and recommendations to the broader business, with specific partnership with Directors of Performance Management.
  • Ensuring the pricing agenda and related RGM processes run efficiently for Diageo to optimize GSV, revenue, and profitability.


Management Responsibility


  • Reports into the Director of Commercial Excellence, and leads a team of 5 individuals
  • Member of the Diageo Canada Leadership Team, led by the GM Canada
  • Coordinates with COE to help with tactical elements of role, including tools, reporting, reconciliation, as well as analytical support where appropriate
  • Works closely and establishes strong working relationships with the Canadian Leadership Team and Field Sales Performance Directors, driving accountability to implement the RGM agenda
  • Leads by example and elevates RGM team culture by crafting a high-energy, positive environment


Top Accountabilities


  • Delivers promotional insights and spend recommendations through M&E Processes
  • Deliver RGM value through price/mix/margin that is ahead of the industry and meets AOP Targets
  • Implements national price direction for both headline price and promotional guidelines
  • Works closely with Finance, Commercial Excellence, Consumer Insights, and Performance Management to develop, deliver, and complete the plan, including contingencies and gap closure
  • Partners with innovation to improve pricing opportunities
  • Develops and Leads the strategic and annual planning process for Revenue Growth Management
  • Coaches and develops a strong, hard-working team, bringing our purpose to life; setting high leadership standards and nurturing a growth mindset
  • Builds annual pricing playbooks, delivers brand sprints and/or category deep dives as needed


Qualifications And Experience Required


  • Graduate with minimum of 7 years of Business (RGM, Planning, Sales, Finance) experience, preferably in the Beverage/Alcohol or Consumer Packaged Goods industry
  • Strong leader and coach with direct team management experience and proven succession results
  • Strong expertise in P&L and RGM levers, management, and impact on value chain
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Executive presence and ability to influence critical commercial decisions with senior partners
  • Growth mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • Consistent track record of defining and delivering commercially oriented strategies and plans
  • Able to manage multiple assignments and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong commercial experience and financial acumen, with expertise in one or more of: pricing / promo analytics, tool development, syndicated data, trade terms, promotional effectiveness, finance
