Position Overview

Director of Marketing position is available to support the following universities:


· Saba University School of Medicine, Saba, Netherlands Antilles

· Medical University of the Americas, Nevis, St. Kitts & Nevis

· St. Matthew’s University , Grand Cayman


All three Universities (the “Schools” or “School”) are part of Global University Systems (GUS), a network of universities operating around the world. Each of the universities has a medical school (MD program), while St. Matthew’s University also offers a veterinary school (DVM program).

Each medical school offers admission in an accredited, 4-year MD degree program. The 4-year program is split equally between a Basic Science Program that is taught on the respective School’s associated campus located in the Caribbean, and a Clinical Program that is taught in Medical Centers located in the United States and Canada. Each medical school is separately accredited by a global accreditation agency, recognized by WFME, and possess the regulatory approvals to offer graduates the opportunity to become licensed physicians in the United States and Canada. Students at each medical school also have access to US Title IV loans to pay for their education. Students at St. Matthew’s University’s veterinary school study on Grand Cayman for 28 months, and then progress to affiliated veterinary schools in the US or Canada for the clinical year.

Location:

The position may be either a remote or, if nearby, at the Schools’ administrative offices in Devens, Massachusetts, which is located outside of Boston, or Orlando, Florida. Employees choosing to be remote will be required to travel to university offices from time to time.


Position Summary:

The Director of Marketing will be responsible for working with Executive Leadership to provide the marketing strategy that will help achieve each school’s goals of achieving its mission and vision through strategic and tactical initiatives with the aim of increasing student enrollment.

The position is considered a critical role as it is expected to drive increased student enrollment, brand recognition, engagement, internal and external communications, innovation, and execution of the marketing strategy through close collaboration across different departments. It is also to be expected that the Director of Marketing will make data-driven decisions that will shape how the schools are marketed in the Caribbean, United States, Canada and globally.


Responsibilities:

  • Execution of promotional activities that involve the schools’ brands.
  • Develop and optimize online advertising strategies to maximize reach, engagement, and conversion rates.
  • Become expert on all aspects of key competitors. Regularly monitor competitor websites.
  • Work with various stakeholders on all marketing requests, ensure timely delivery.
  • Oversee digital marketing campaigns, including search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, email marketing, social media, and content marketing.
  • Assists the EVP Marketing & Recruitment in developing and implementing the overall departmental strategic plan.
  • Ensure daily monitoring of all social media comments and messages, ensure timely 24-hour response across all channels.
  • Develop brand voice and maintain brand integrity across all social media platforms.
  • Monitor and analyze digital marketing metrics to measure campaign effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Identifies, drives and executes optimal strategies, tactics, and resources for all recruitment marketing efforts.
  • Create innovative ways to help penetrate other markets that will drive up enrollment from both the domestic and international markets.
  • Establish and drive a multi-channel social media and recruitment support strategies.
  • Drive awareness of each school in the most cost-efficient way possible through coordinated marketing campaigns.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the EVP Marketing & Recruitment.
  • Forecast, draft, implement, and oversee the departments operating budget.
  • Conducting quality control on all produced marketing materials, assets and communications
  • Responsible for maintaining an inclusive working environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.
  • Effectively market our schools and its programs by monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity to identify market opportunities for products/services.
  • Responding to crises or challenging situations quickly and professionally
  • Manage brand and reputation of each school.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of marketing professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Manage the marketing team’s deliverables by providing the key performance metrics required to achieve the schools’ overall goals.
  • Coordinate with external agencies, vendors, and contractors to leverage their expertise and ensure effective execution of marketing campaigns.
  • Making sure all company materials have consistent and positive messaging and branding.
  • Recruit and train newly hired members of the management team under Marketing
  • Consistently monitor and update schools’ WordPress websites.
  • Lead Public Relations efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including admissions, academic departments, and alumni relations, to align marketing efforts and support university initiatives.
  • Ensure that the schools’ remains updated with the latest trends to help management in making strategic and tactical decisions for the organizations.
  • Lead the marketing team in identifying new market segments based on data analytics and other means available.
  • Establish and drive a multi-channel communications strategy.
  • Establishes performance goals and measures to evaluate success of assigned area of responsibility.
  • Provide periodic reports to Management on results of Marketing campaigns and initiatives.

  8. Maintains deep expertise in the higher education industry, as well as in innovative marketing solutions, staying abreast of issues, trends, and competitor strategies to identify differentiated growth opportunities.
  9. Exceptional organization, planning and time & project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  10. A keen ability to manage process under minimal supervision, as well as package and present solutions to a wider audience. Work involves establishing criteria, formulating projects, and assessing program effectiveness.
  11. Ability to manage processes and build roadmaps and timelines effectively and efficiently.

Related Work Experience:

  • Proven experience with marketing automation and CRM tools (eg. Salesforce).
  • Minimum 6 years of senior level experience in advanced educational leadership roles or equivalent in a related field is required.
  • Having a established network in the industry is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated experience updating WordPress websites
  • Demonstrated experience in project planning and management, and process improvement with the ability to manage multiple projects with efficiency.
  • Proven track record in the education sector, specifically in proprietary schools, in a senior management capacity
  • 7-10+ years of relevant marketing experience across different industry sectors
  • Has a diverse experience in the field of marketing.


Education:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, or related field.
