Director, IT Delivery

We are looking for a Director, IT Delivery to join Element Fleet Management. As the largest pure-play automotive fleet manager in the world, we provide unmatched products and services and solutions to our clients.

The Director of the IT Delivery team is accountable for the continuous improvement of the policies and processes used to deliver capital software for Elements and our clients. This role focuses on ensuring that the governance and practice standards for the PMO, Business Analysts, Business Systems Analysts, and Quality Assurance practices are maintained and enforced to ensure quality software development to Elements Software Development Lifecycle. This role also provides leaderships to the managers of these areas and supports their growth and development over time.


People Management and Teamwork


  • Encourage productivity, innovation, teamwork, and high level of professionalism.

  • Ensure performance objectives are clearly defined and articulated, ensure performance reviews are completed in a timely and comprehensive manner, provide ongoing “performance enablement” discussions to ensure employees are continually engaged, informal feedback and clear communication is maintained.
  • Attract and retain quality people through effective communications, sound processes and structure.
  • Ensure employees always have a safe work environment (physically & mentally). All employees are to follow regulations, workplace laws and practices expected from Element.
  • Guide the development of staff capabilities; build a culture that supports the vision and business strategy, leads by example.
  • Responsible for succession planning for individuals
  • Participate in knowledge transfer, ensure timely and accurate communication throughout the group.


Business Management


  • Maintain the capital budgets at a portfolio level to ensure costs stay in line with approved and allocated budgets. Highlights and makes recommendations as required to ensure all stakeholders have line of sight to the status of the budget.
  • Directs the technical project management function. Develops and establishes strategic project management and quality standards and methods that ensure on-time and in-scope delivery.
  • Work with Product owners to develop the business cases for capital expenditure approvals from the IT Steering Committee
  • Removes obstacles and negotiates with stakeholders on items that prevent success, Manages and mitigates risk on all projects.
  • Engage with similar technology teams across all geographies to standardize IT delivery processes and tooling.
  • Work with business stakeholders and champions to refine and deliver on the solutions to business problems through the implementation and/or development of software solutions.
  • Leads the IT Steering Committee quarterly sessions. Provides structure and actions, outstanding items as required.


Delivery process


  • When required evaluates and recommends new tooling solutions, modifications, or changes to IT delivery software.
  • Owns the policies and documentation for project execution including approvals, execution, and benefits realization.
  • Owns the tooling for project estimation (AFE) including het maintenance and continuous improvements.
  • Owns the project management and tracking software including developing, improving and adherence by users.
  • Develops and owns the metrics for evaluating IT delivery quality including but not limited to project and portfolio performance, quality of requirements and quality of the QA practice.


IT Delivery Leadership Team


  • Facilitates leadership sessions for the IT Delivery team and helps set direction for the other managers in the IT Delivery team.
  • Ensures all IT delivery teams are aligned to processes and practices from other IT Towers
  • Works closely with the VP of IT Delivery to establish goals for the year in alignment to the Balanced Score Card.


Qualifications


  • Must have -Bachelor’s degree
  • Nice to have – Masters Business Management


Experience


  • Has minimum of 10 years leading project delivery (software development) teams composed of cross functionally skilled individuals (PM, BA, BSA, QA)
  • Nice to have – Experience in the automotive Fleet industry of 7 to 10 years
  • Has minimum of 10 years experience (Finance or Banking industry preferred)


Certifications


  • Preferred certifications for PM, Scrum, Business Analyst QA Practice
