The Team


We are looking for an energetic and strategic thought leader to join our team in Global Banking and Market Engineering.


The Role


The Director, as a technology owner, will be responsible for the strategic direction, leadership and oversight of the Capital Market Fixed Income Derivatives Technology team with the focus of modernization of application portfolio and delivery of solutions to support the business needs globally. You will need to manage all technology aspects within the portfolio and ensure delivery of business value and mitigates risk through cost effective solutions and efficient operations of your respective area. You will need to develop and implement appropriate technology strategy in collaboration with Global Banking and Market stakeholders and technology teams. You will build and manage the implementation of solutions using modern technology and while ensuring time to market, and comply to the highest quality standards, with adequate and effective controls to meet obligations required for compliance and operational risk.


Responsibilities


  • Effectively communicate and continuously building and maintaining a strong working relationship with technology partners, management and business stakeholders, and partner with them to help drive the strategy of the department.
  • Ensures round the clock production support for capital market business globally, and ensure high availability, integrity and reliability of solutions and processes developed.
  • Provides strategic thought leadership in the delivery of solutions that meet business & technology strategy and objectives. Apply modern technology to new and legacy requirements.
  • Builds a high performing environment and implements strategy to attract, retain, develop, and motivate the team through purposeful leadership and by fostering an inclusive culture. Manages succession and development planning for the team.
  • Communicates vision/values/business strategy. Collaborates with multiple technology groups and vendors to ensure that the application, integrations, infrastructure and architectures are designed to meet evolving business requirements, and the standards for reliability, scalability, performance and availability that aligns with the Bank’s Technology roadmap
  • Leads a continuous improvement strategy with the team, working with the teams to identify problems, search for possible solutions and apply them, in an iterative model that allows them to continuously improve their performance as a team
  • Plans and directs technology projects to solve complex business problems. Ensures timely development and implementation of multiple applications and IT solutions.
  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank systems, knowledge, and relationships.


Qualifications


  • Excellent critical thinking skills and a strategic thinking approach to solving problems and identifying innovative solution
  • Experience implementing medium and large technology projects and solutions.
  • An excellent communicator, planner and visioner, able to influence decision making across stakeholders.
  • Able to drive continuous improvement and transformation in leading the group in delivering high performance while aligning to Bank’s strategic direction.
  • Strong Engineering/Technical background is required. 7-10+ year of IT and business/industry work experience.
  • Relevant capital markets knowledge and experiences, with excellent business and technical knowledge. (Knowledge of products, how business functions and core processes interact, understand regulatory requirements, and knowledge of new technologies, the strategic importance of projects and impact of changes etc)
