Job Summary:


Reporting to the Deputy Chief Risk Officer, we are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Director - Liquidity Risk to oversee the design, development, and operationalization of our liquidity risk management framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing quantitative liquidity risk models/tools/metrics, stress testing scenarios and related risk management policies and procedures.


Effectively support a strong risk management framework that enables HOOPP to invest in both liquid and illiquid markets. Provide valuable insights and identify emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making and understand risk drivers


What you will do:


  • Lead the development and implementation of quantitative models and methodologies for measuring and managing liquidity risk, including the development of stress testing scenarios, assumptions and liquidity risk metrics
  • Develop and maintain liquidity risk management policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise in liquidity risk management, both internally and externally, including presenting to senior management, regulators, and industry forums.
  • Work collaboratively with other risk management teams and front line functions to ensure effective risk governance and oversight
  • Lead the design and development of systems and tools to support liquidity risk management, including data management and reporting tools
  • Collaborate with IM, Finance, and ISG on cross-division initiatives and projects
  • Potentially manage staff in the future, providing guidance and direction to ensure effective performance and professional development.


Risk Solution Development & Innovation


  • Identify creative solutions and customize them to fit HOOPP’s unique circumstances in an effective and cost-efficient way
  • Liaise with the Data Team and ISG to retrieve necessary data and security information to support the development of value added risk metrics/dashboards
  • Integrate information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis and/or streamlined reporting.


Research and Analysis


  • Support Senior Management in investment decision making by monitoring and assessing various risks and provde value-added insights
  • Analyze market best practices and identify approaches that are fit for purpose
  • Conduct research as needed to support initiatives
  • Conduct sensitivity and scenario analyses to understand the impact of changes in portfolio positioning, leverage, new investments, and potential future market environments on HOOPP’s liquidity risk profile.


Develop Risk Management Framework, Policies, and Procedures


  • Analyze and make recommendations to improve the current risk management practices including policies, reports, processes, and procedures.
  • Support Senior Management in developing Risk Appetite Framework for liquidity risk, and set risk tolerance parameters for various risk metrics


What you bring:


  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Finance, or Economics.
  • Extensive Experience in project management across multi-functional teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to research issues, analyze problems, synthesize information and make recommendations.
  • Minimum of 13 years’ experience in quantitative finance
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build strong working relationships with other risk management teams and business partners.
  • A sophisticated understanding of global investing across derivatives, private and public market asset classes
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of quantitative professionals.
  • Deep knowledge of liquidity risk management concepts, techniques, and regulatory requirements.
  • Able to handle multiple objectives and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Minimum of 13 years of experience in liquidity risk management or related fields, including experience in quantitative risk modeling and stress testing.
  • Build relationships with front office, (i.e., Investment Management) to develop integrated strategies to manage credit risk and influence investment decisions.
  • Professional title in finance (CFA, FRM, PRM)
