At EY, you’ll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

EY's people in more than 150 countries are committed to operating with integrity, quality and professionalism in the provision of audit, advisory, tax and transaction advisory services. We strive to help all of our people achieve their professional and personal goals through an inclusive environment that values everyone's contributions, appreciates diversity of thought, fosters growth, and provides continuous opportunities for development. Recognized as one of Canada's top employers, EY continually strives to be a great place to work.

The opportunity

Within EY's Technology Risk practice, we are currently seeking a Senior Manager to lead and manage third party assurance engagements, specifically SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports, as well as other IT compliance services. You will be part of the senior management team that will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of SOC engagements. You may also serve as a Senior Manager on other Technology Risk engagements, as needed.

Your key responsibilities:

This candidate will be required to participate in our Technology Risk services offering. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • SOC Reporting – Lead SOC 1 and SOC 2 engagements under CSAE3416/3000, SSAE18, or ISAE 3402
  • Business Development – take an active role in developing market awareness of EY's SOC services; further developing relationships with our clients; identifying and leading pursuit opportunities; leading the development of marketing materials, proposals, presentations, and research.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex information systems and apply it to client situations.
  • Demonstrate excellent project management skills, inspire teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members, and use current technology/tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and services.
  • Internal Controls Attestations – Focus on reviewing management's assertions over their business processes and IT governance, risk and controls.
  • Maintain relationships with client management to manage expectations of service, including work products, timing, and the value to be delivered.
  • Work with the engagement team and client to create plans for accomplishing engagement objectives and a strategy that complies with professional standards and addresses the risks inherent to the engagement.
  • Play an active role in resource management, team development and training related activities.
  • Understand EY and its service lines and actively assess what the firm can deliver to bring value to clients.

Skills And Attributes For Success

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • Proven ability to teach and develop your team's knowledge as it relates to CPA and AICPA reporting standards.
  • Extensive SOC reporting experience, as well as experience with IT Audit methodologies (internal and external audits)
  • Demonstrated integrity within a professional environment
  • Highly motivated, committed self-starter
  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Commerce, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or another relevant program
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience (post-graduation) working as an auditor for a public accounting firm or have equivalent systems/technology experience
  • Excellent leadership and teamwork skills
  • A strong understanding of the requirements set under CPA Canada, AICPA and ISAE, as it pertains to SOC reporting
  • Possess relevant IT / audit designation(s) (e.g. CPA, CISA, CRISC)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

What We Look For

We're interested in intellectually curious people with a genuine passion for IT governance, risk and controls. If you have the confidence in both your presentation and technical abilities to grow into a leading expert here, this is the role for you.
