Job Summary


Bring your strong administrative experience and superior organizational skills to this challenging position


The Court Services Branch is responsible for the delivery of all court administration services in BC. These consist of registry, trial support and Sheriff Services for all levels of court. The Registry provides the infrastructure to process documents that are required by the court to ensure timely and effective processing of court cases and support to the justice system.


Reporting to the Court Administration Manager, the Accounting/Registry/Court Clerk performs accounting, cashiering, data entry, administrative and counter service duties. This position also provides court clerk/recorder technical and administrative support to all types of Court proceedings.

Job Requirements


  • One-year clerical experience in an office environment
  • Experience or training in a cashier processing/ accounting environment
  • Grade 12 completed supplemented by Post-secondary education in business administration or business courses
  • Experience/training in keyboarding, data entry, word processing, internet and other standard compute applications


Preference May Be Given To Applicants With The Following


  • Experience/training in control and security of public monies and accounting documents in a Court Services Environment preferred.
  • Experience with JUSTIN and/or CEIS.


Provisos


  • May be required to work overtime due to late court sittings and on short notice
  • Exposure to unpleasant dealings with upset public and clients
  • May be required to work in other areas of Court Services
  • Type 50 wpm
  • Hold a valid class 5 BC Drivers license
  • Travel is required which could include travel in adverse weather conditions
  • Must be flexible with working hours, hours of work vary depending on operational demands
  • Successfully pass an Enhanced Security Screening
