The Corporate Financial Analyst will be responsible for assisting with budgeting, forecasting, tracking, analysis and reporting of various financial data for numerous departments (Sales, Marketing, Finance and Operations) that support the achievement of short and long-term business objectives. The incumbent must be able to merge cost accounting with financial planning and analysis skills in a manufacturing context
What You Will Get to Do:
- Responsible for various month end activities
- Act as super user of ERP system and is responsible for training other financial staff as needed
- Responsible for aiding various departments in ensuring accurate and correct accounting classification of expenditures
- Prepare analytical reports such as trend analysis, selling price analysis, sales bridges and sales and margin analysis by customer and products
- Analyze general ledger accounts on a periodic basis
- Analyze weekly and monthly variance reports and provide explanations for deviations
- Take on projects as assigned, such as analyzing material waste reduction initiatives, validating standard cost/labour efficiency and preparing root cause analysis for various issues
- Assist with budget and forecast preparations, tracking and reporting of variances (including creation of templates and consolidation of data)
Recipe for Success:
- Experience with MS Nav or a similar ERP system is preferred
- Completion of College diploma or University degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field of study
- Minimum 2 years of previous experience in an analyst role
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is an asset
- Completion of CPA, CMA, or CGA designation is an asset
