Analyst / Senior Analyst / Specialist - Financial Controlling

(Permanent Position)

Overall Responsibility

Perform a range of cost accounting, forecasting, reporting and analysis functions, including product costing and inventory valuation for month end closing; analysis of costs, inventories, financial performance; management reporting; and continuous improvement of processes, costing methodology and management reporting.

Accountabilities

• Lead the monthly close process, ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines, accounting standards and internal controls for product costing, inventory provisions, cost centre allocations, account analysis, reconciliations, and reporting
• Facilitate and lead activities related to monthly forecasting, annual budgeting and 5-year planning cycle for assigned business unit or department areas and report to management on significant issues, investigate variances and make recommendations for improvements.
• Provide financial expertise to business unit/department teams and areas within financial controlling to support business case /investment analysis, benchmarking initiatives, continuous improvement and other cross functional activities, as required.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in business unit/department areas and provide financial input to support loss intelligence/analysis activities in the business unit/department.
• Provide explanations of relevant financial concepts, processes and procedures to business unit/department personnel, as required.
• Liaise with the other Accounting & Analysis teams to ensure timely period end closing
• Evaluate and recommend accounting treatment for non-recurring transactions.
• Provide and effectively communicate financial performance reports and analysis for assigned business unit areas and management as required, delivering monthly recurring and ad hoc management reporting to support the organization in achieving objectives and making optimal business decisions.

Education & Accreditation

• Must have a university degree in Business/Accounting and a minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
• Professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA) or MBA is desirable.

Skills & Knowledge

• SAP working knowledge.
• General knowledge of the general ledger is required.
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of various controlling functions (cost accounting, planning/budgeting, reporting and financial analysis) is required
• Must have good personal computer, standard corporate software applications and applicable systems skills.
• Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must have good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• General knowledge of product costing and inventory valuation is required.
• Familiar with performance reporting concepts including budgeting and forecasting, development of management reports, variance analysis, and business case development.
• Experience with business intelligence and business systems analysis.

Work Environment

• Office environment with plant visits. Required to wear personal protective safety equipment as specified within plant area.
• This position is eligible for remote work in accordance with our current remote work policy.

Hours Of Work

Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads .
