Role overview
You will support the Corporate Development function throughout the deal cycle. The role will be focused on supporting the evaluation and execution of acquisitions including providing assistance with due diligence, valuation / financial modelling, and taking part in integration activities.
Responsibilities may include:
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other areas of the business including Operations, Finance, HR, Payroll and other key functions, supporting their transaction execution needs
- Population of internal financial models
- Ad-hoc analysis of financial and other data
- Assisting with management of the acquisition pipeline
- Analysis of potential opportunities
- Aid in the preparation of materials for key stakeholders including Management and/or Board
- Assistance with special projects and other tasks as required
Qualifications and other skills
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic deals-based environment
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- 1-4 years work experience in a financial analysis and/or transaction-based environment (M&A/transaction advisory, corporate development, private equity, investment banking, etc.); qualified co-op program candidates may also be considered
- Healthcare or retail experience is an asset, but not a requirement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Undergraduate education in business administration, accounting, finance or related field
Position requirements
- Comfortable with a hybrid work environment – while the role is presently remote (and expected to remain as such), working from or meeting at our office may be required from time to time in the future at Management’s discretion.
- While not expected in the short-term, as the candidate grows within the role, there may be opportunities or business need for the candidate to travel within Canada to support due diligence visits in the medium-term. Ability and desire to do so is an asset.
