POSITION SUMMARY
In collaboration with the Human Resource Department’s business partners, the Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for entering data and updating the HR system as well as providing managers and employees with support in this area. The incumbent will be the point of reference on HR programs and policies as well as on matters relating to working conditions, group insurance and benefits.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support users (employees, managers) in the use of the Time and Absence Management module.
  • Participate in non-competitive internal recruitment.
  • In collaboration with HR business partners, ensure the application of the collective agreement.
  • Welcome new employees, lead integration meetings, and serve as the promoter of the Cogeco culture.
  • Act as a generalist, supporting employees in the day-to-day management of HR issues.
  • Use Workday, the Human Resources management platform, to maximize the employee experience.
  • Be an invaluable collaborator with the different centres of expertise (Benefits, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, etc.)
  • Pull information reports from the system and follow up accordingly.
  • Work proactively with business partners to improve support to managers
  • Provide statistics related to the department’s various activities and make recommendations.
Essential Requirements

ACADEMIC TRAINING
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in human resources or any combination of equivalent training and experience.
Work Experience
  • Experience in a unionized environment will be deemed an asset.
  • 3 years of relevant experience within an HR team.
SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
  • Mastery of Google Suite for companies – an asset
  • Ability to take charge of projects with drive and proactivity
  • Experience with Workday’s Human Capital platform – an asset
  • A self-starter with a sense of organization and the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Diplomacy and discretion
  • Excellent mastery of spoken and written French and English; the coordinator will be called to work with partners in Ontario.
