Responsibilities

• Explore specific needs; anticipating new opportunities.
• Manage tool and materials inventory for the project.
• Primary focus is to supervise construction site by planning, organizing, and controlling the project; completing quality inspections; supervising sub-contractors, labourers and handymen.
• Maintain site records and file daily field reports
• Be a “team player”.
• Schedule and coordinate staff and sub-contractors; evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions.
• Maintain the schedule and project budget
• Accept other job responsibilities as assigned and as needed from time to time, including small tasks on site and, assisting others when they are overwhelmed and busy, or when there is an urgent task.
• Prevents fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, codes.
• Ensure that work is completed on-time and to Company standards of quality and customer satisfaction
• Complete necessary reports and meet at least weekly with Construction Manager and Project Manager and Head Office to discuss construction progress.
• Conduct inspections at critical phases.

Qualifications

Project Management, Quality Management, Supervision experience minimum 5 years on a residential site, preferably larger sites, preferably as a rough super

Optional but definitely a bonus - A degree/diploma in Civil engineering with a focus on building residential construction

FIRST AID, CPR, WHMIS, Valid Driver's license with clear record

Solid knowledge of construction trades and specifications

Knowledge and understanding of the Building Code

Able to understand and interpret drawings and specifications

Knowledge and Understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act

Understanding of a construction project lifecycle

Exceptional attention to detail

Demonstrate problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

Demonstrate organizational and time-management skills

Able to effectively prioritize, delegate, and supervise work
