Job Description
The Construction Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing all on-site activities and personnel at various ICI (industrial, commercial, and institutional) construction projects. With a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in ICI construction, the ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, a valid full G driver's license in Canada, and the ability to effectively coordinate and supervise site staff. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget. The Construction Site Supervisor reports to the Project Manager and works closely with the construction team, subcontractors, and clients
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Management:
* Coordinate and manage day-to-day operations on construction sites.
* Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Oversee the implementation of safety protocols and enforce adherence to procedures.
* Monitor site progress and quality of work, addressing any issues promptly.
* Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
2. Staff Supervision:
* Lead and supervise site staff, including construction workers, subcontractors, and tradespeople.
* Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
* Provide guidance, training, and support to enhance the team's performance.
* Conduct regular performance evaluations and address any performance-related concerns.
3. Project Coordination:
* Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop construction schedules and plans.
* Coordinate and oversee the delivery of materials, equipment, and tools to the site.
* Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints.
* Communicate regularly with project stakeholders, providing updates on site activities.
4. Quality Assurance:
* Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
* Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to identify and rectify any deficiencies.
* Implement corrective actions to maintain high-quality workmanship.
* Facilitate inspections by regulatory authorities and address any findings.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports, safety records, and change orders.
* Prepare progress reports and communicate project status to the Project Manager.
* Document and report any incidents, accidents, or near-misses on the construction site.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in ICI construction.
* Valid full G driver's license in Canada.
* Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* In-depth knowledge of construction processes, codes, and regulations.
* Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Problem-solving and decision-making skills to address construction-related challenges.
* Familiarity with construction management software and tools.
* Commitment to promoting and maintaining a safe working environment.
