Job Description
Arcadis Canada is seeking an Environmental Construction Site Supervisor to support projects in Ontario. This position will support the Arcadis Construction Services group with projects related to environmental remediation/decommissioning.

Role description:
As a Environmental Construction Site Supervisor you will work within the Arcadis Construction Services group supporting projects related to environmental remediation/decommissioning. The position will require travel at a minimum of 90%.
Role accountabilities:
  • Plan and execute projects at/or under budgeted costs;
  • Ensures health and safety is considered in the performance of all activities on the job and will comply with client H&S requirements;
  • Collect daily information on site and relay to the Project Manager and Operations Manager on a daily basis;
  • Interface with client onsite to complete project deliverables;
  • Supervise all site activities.
  • Plan and execute effective job kick off meetings, daily tailgate meetings and weekly safety meetings;
  • Read and understand project schedules, cost controls, sub-contractor scopes and able to manage them on a daily basis;
  • Communicate to management any changes in conditions and/or communications with the client from the field level;
  • Manage subcontractors on a daily basis and ensure compliance with health and safety and quality requirements;
Experience in the following preferred:
  • Trenching and mechanical piping projects
  • Earthwork and site development
  • Soil/sediment remediation
  • Landfill construction
  • Installation and maintenance of shoring systems
  • Building decommissioning and demolition
Qualifications & Experience:
  • 5+ years’ experience in environmental remediation and/or heavy civil construction projects preferred
  • 8+ years construction experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Technical Diploma or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline
Key Skills:
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • Construction supervisor experience
  • 90% travel required minimum
  • Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong approach to health and safety
  • Ability to work independently
  • Previous construction management and construction oversight experience
  • Skilled at planning and executing heavy equipment operation and remedial construction
  • Strong knowledge in surveying, GPS (Trimble or TopCon)
