We are a leading-edge luxury residential home builder with an outstanding team that takes pride in building well-made and elegantly crafted homes in the most desirable locations across the GTA. We are seeking a versatile and charismatic Rough Site Supervisor with 5+ years of experience in this role.
We are looking for candidates that are excited for a new challenge and eager to help shape the future of Hallett Homes. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate looking to engage in a fast pace and industry leading team environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Issue construction notices to homeowners including curb, sidewalk, paving, sod and asphalt installations
- Ensure that the quality of work being performed meets set out standards
- Provide strong leadership onsite, ensuring that Hallett Homes values are upheld, leading the production cycle from Excavation through Prime
- Issue work orders for all trades and schedule inspections
- Effectively communicate issues trades/vendors and the Construction Manager
- Ensure all trades are working in accordance with Ontario OHSA
- Maintain accurate inspection reports including field notes, deficiency reports and photographs
- Create accurate cut sheets for excavation and foundation trade partners
- Keep homeowners informed regarding the progress of their home and arrange frame walkthroughs and Pre-Delivery Inspections.
- Reviewing and managing claims for extra costs from Trade Contractors
- Demonstrate leadership and ensure that projects are built according to approved construction plans
- Reviewing changes to scope of work for subcontractors, working with the Construction Manager
- Develop, maintain and manage the construction schedule
- Develop and maintain an impactful labour schedule week to week onsite
- Ensure that the site is maintained in a clean, orderly and safe manner
Qualifications
- Ability to read and review drawings
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Experience using Newstar is an Asset
- Minimum 5+ years of construction related experience in this same position
- Skilled at using excel and other MS Office programs
- Experienced leading in a Unionized environment
- Well organized and able to multi-task while meeting various deadlines
- Great problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
