Compliance Analyst Jobs

Insight Global is looking for a Compliance Analyst to come on full-time with one of Canada's largest Gas companies. This role can be hybrid in Calgary or fully remote depending on the resources preference. The successful resource will come from an Energy or Oil & Gas or Utilities background and be experienced with tax compliance for fuel tax, indirect tax, and commodity tax. This resource will also understand/be experienced with government audits, import/export rules, and be knowledgeable in Canadian/US business legality/policy. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is resourceful and willing to research new policies/legalities individually. This client is looking for a long-term specialist to join their team with promising future opportunities as the company continues to expand and acquire.

Must-haves

• Experience with indirect tax, fuel tax, and commodity tax
• Strong communicator comfortable with researching policies/laws independently
• 4+ years of experience working in Commodity/Energy Compliance within a related industry (Energy, Oil & Gas, Utilities)
• Ability to use and create Pivot Tables in Excel

Plusses

• Experience/knowledge of Cap & Trade Programs
• Familiar with Power BI reporting
• Experience working with government audits
• Familiar with Nation Energy Board (NEB) reporting and Energy Information Administration
• Direct NGL (Natural Gas Liquids) industry experience
• Familiar with Canada and US import/ export rules
