Role: Junior Regulatory Analyst
Location: Calgary, AB (hybrid)
Duration: 1 year
Your New Company
A leading Oil and Gas company in Canada is looking to hire a Junior Regulatory Analyst for a 1-year contract with potential extension in Calgary.
Your New Role
You will be the Primary Regulatory service provider for several large-scale Natural Gas-related construction projects. Regularly interact with the construction team through meetings and discussions to identify regulatory issues and communicate them to the Regulatory team. Drafting Regulatory submissions, facilitating the internal Senior Review process, submitting to the Regulator and then responding to information requests. Researching regulatory and compliance questions. Acting as the interface, at the working level, between the company and Regulators. Able to travel periodically as required. At times, the position may require additional work outside normal working hours and/or weekends and holidays.
What you need to Succeed
Resource development Project experience. Preference given to experience working with the BC Oil and Gas Commission (OGC), the BC Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) and for experience permitting and managing condition compliance for linear Projects in BC. Minimum undergraduate degree in social sciences, legal, environmental studies, engineering or other applicable pipeline or compliance-related field. Preference also given for a working understanding of BC regulations governing resource development. Technical writing experience is required, both in drafting new documents and reviewing/proofreading existing documents. Familiarity with current Indigenous issues related to resource development in BC. Able to prioritize and manage several competing issues simultaneously in a quickly evolving work environment. Capable of participating in group meetings to ensure that all participants understand the regulatory requirements. Able to learn quickly and then employ that knowledge to make concise recommendations. Self-directed worker who is willing to take on a wide range of new tasks.
