We’re looking for someone who cares about their work and strives for more each day. Someone who challenges the status quo, embraces change, and thrives in a collaborative work environment. If you are someone who approaches work with passion, curiosity and the courage to innovate, then this role is for you

  • Interpretation and application of the Inter-Affiliate Code of Conduct (IACC), Code of Conduct Regulation (COCR) and the Code of Ethics (CofE)
  • Support the Compliance Officer and Compliance Plan Committees with their respective compliance requirements.
  • Support annual company-wide training processes through the development and administration of training modules to employees across the ATCO companies for all three codes.
  • Prepare and maintain inter-affiliate services agreements and other documentation as required to ensure compliance with the codes and fulfill the necessary reporting requirements.
  • Support ATCO’s compliance with its CofE at an enterprise level.
  • Prepare compliance reports to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Support the ATCO Utilities with their compliance program relating to the IACC and COCR.
  • Monitor and support compliance-related regulatory filings and investigations.
Business and financial analysis of inter-affiliate arrangements

  • Autonomously providing recommendations for business inquiries involving inter-affiliate financial matters.
  • Supporting the ATCO Utilities accounting teams with the compilation of inter-affiliate financial transaction reports.
  • Collaborating with the ATCO Utilities accounting teams to establish and review pricing methodologies for inter-affiliate services involving the ATCO Utilities.
  • Analyzing and providing insights on fair market values of retail natural gas and electricity services across Alberta.
  • Developing a complete understanding of the business costs that are pertinent in providing services to an affiliate.
Who You Are:

  • Experience working in a regulatory or policy development environment considered an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • You bring 1-3 years experience in accounting or finance is preferred.
  • A degree in business administration or any other academic discipline supportive of the role.
  • Proven ability to manage priorities, work well in a team environment, and build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
What We Offer:

  • Flex benefits
  • Tuition assistance program
  • Charitable donation matching
  • A culture based on caring, integrity, agility, collaboration, and striving for excellence
