Overview


Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Sherwood Park Pipeline Control Center is recruiting for Specialist, Control Room Compliance and Training. Reporting to the Sherwood Park Control Centre (SPCC) Manager, the Specialist Compliance and Training is accountable for the compliance of Sherwood Park Control Centre (SPCC) operations and ensuring the requirements of the Pipeline Control Management Program (PCMP) and Pembina’s Operating Management System (OMS) are met. The Specialist also ensures SPCC staff have the knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of the PCMP.


Responsibilities


Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:


  • Leads or participates in projects to develop the PCMP, Pembina’s OMS, or other associated programs;
  • Communicates compliance findings and actions to management;
  • Develops action plans, with the Compliance Analyst, to improve in problem areas and monitors action progress;
  • Leads and/or participates in projects developing training processes and materials, and;
  • Works closely with the SPCC leadership team to ensure there is an adequate supply of trained Control Centre Operators to meet SPCC needs;
  • Planning such as resource allocations for training activities.
  • Ensures all documentation related to training be completed and maintained;
  • Liaises with the Pembina Organization Effectiveness team, especially the Training & Talent Development group, ensures alignment between the SPCC Training Process, corporate requirements & new initiatives;
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace;
  • Maintains awareness of applicable rules, regulations, and industry practices including: AER, API, CER, CSA, PHMSA;
  • Coordinates training, with Training Advisor, including: tracking schedule compliance, reviewing completed training and prioritizing training for completion;


Job Qualifications


  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License;
  • Experience providing systems and process training to stakeholders;
  • Highly analytical with the ability to see gaps and develop solutions;
  • Working knowledge of US 49 CFR 192 and 195 regulatory requirements for pipeline operators; CER Onshore Pipeline Regulations, AER pipeline regulations and rules, and API Recommend Practices;
  • Ability to communicate effectively and positively with internal stakeholders at various levels in the organization;
  • Ability to juggle day-to-day transactional work with projects, by managing priorities to ensure completion of tasks;
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including writing, speaking, and active listening;
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office and demonstrated aptitude working with other business-related computer programs and applications;
  • Post-Secondary education in a related field.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pipeline or industrial compliance or operations, and;
  • Strong organizational skills - with the ability to work both independently and as part of a group;


This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.


Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
