What You’ll Do


It’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:


  • Supports internal change process by assisting with the job analysis and job evaluation process, developing salary recommendations in collaboration with Compensation Managers, creating internal offer letters and position requests for all internal job changes.
  • Monitors the external landscape to identify and summarize legislative changes related to minimum wage, pay equity, overtime and/or employment standards that impact current TJX Canada compensation programs and policies.
  • This position is responsible for supporting the analytical and administrative requirements of TJX Canada’s Compensation programs and processes related to base pay, bonus programs, Stock Options and Car allowance. This position uses knowledge of compensation to conduct analysis, gather data and insights, provide recommendations, monitor legislative compliance, and engage in general compensation administration to meet overall department objectives.
  • Identifies opportunities, provides recommendations, and executes solutions to support continuous improvement and streamlining of compensation processes, programs, and policies.
  • Completes the annual compensation survey process by matching external survey descriptions to TJX Canada benchmark jobs and preparing compensation data to survey providers, and completing the annual market benchmark analysis and recommendation process.
  • As required, supports requests from the Compensation Managers with the year-end salary and hourly review, bonus, and stock option processes by completing required analysis, generating reports, maintaining dashboards, assessing, and auditing data, completing systems updates, and testing.
  • Under the direction of Compensation Managers, provides general analytical support through analysis of data, building models/dashboards and assists in the identification of trends and insights for various compensation programs, processes, and projects.
  • Responsible for overall compensation administration related to creating and updating positions, offer letters, job descriptions and incentive target lists and databases, ensure the integrity and accuracy of data used in compensation programs.


What You’ll Need


To begin your career with us, we require the following:


  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline driven environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strict confidentiality.
  • Strong computer skills related to Microsoft Excel – creating spreadsheets and modeling (use of advanced formulas, pivot tables, graphs, and ability to interpret and manipulate large sets of data; using macro’s is an asset); intermediate skills in other Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint and Word; knowledge of data analysis tools such as Power BI, Tableau etc.
  • Ability to identify, organize and analyze data using multiple databases and spreadsheets. Good analytical and critical thinking skills to provide solutions; ability to leverage prior experience and adapt quickly to the changing work environment to make effective decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to read, write, communicate, and interpret information accurately. Able to develop and build relationships with internal and external partner.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in an analytical role.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as Oracle EBS, Workday.
  • Post-Secondary education in related area/discipline; working towards a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation considered an asset.
