Purpose
The scope includes review of required standards, auditing to verify performance to the standards, and implementation of corrective actions for any issues found. Performs a range of qualified and complex Quality tasks to ensure that agreed quality standards (for products, services, solution, or projects) comply with agreed requirements.
Accountabilities
  • Initiates actions according to guidelines when Quality does not match the standards.
  • Review and recommend actions for non-conformance issues and ensure effective resolution by coordinating root cause analysis, corrective actions and change management processes.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as may be developed, including conducting inspections on construction projects, and other such tasks.
  • Documentation Verification - Review service records and other documents for accuracy and compliance to OEM specifications. Ensure that quality assurance standards and regulatory requirements are met. Reads and interprets work orders, inspection manuals, meters, and engineering diagrams, drawings, and schematics to determine inspection and test procedures.
  • Lead, conduct or participate in end of warranty inspection processes.
  • Proceeds with qualified, routine, and non-routine Quality tasks.
  • Non-Conformance Record – Record, document, and follow up non-conformance occurrences. Follow up on the effectiveness of containment and corrective actions. Provides support to the investigation of the nonconformance. (Pictures, measurements, documents, etc.). Verify the effectiveness of the implemented solution
  • The Quality Inspector will conduct audits / checks of Renewable assets, covering both Contracted and Self Perform services and operations. The Quality Inspector will produce reports documenting findings and will communicate such findings with site personnel, Operations and Engineering teams and Renewables Leadership.
  • Lead or assist in the development and completion of Lessons learned and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Responds to quality related inquiries and may act as the first point of contact in subject matters.
  • Responsible for scheduling meetings with the site manager and operations management to discuss the findings at project sites. Report and assist in any meetings with main office personnel and management. Interpret and implement quality assurance processes with relevant site personnel.
  • Applies specialized Quality systems, equipment, tools, and methods.
  • The Quality inspector will develop/audit service work methods and documentation to verify they meet standards. This will include product quality inspections (PQI) and maintenance quality inspections (MQI).
Education and Experience
  • Ability to prepare reports and present findings to Liberty Operations Management.
  • Flexible and willing to perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Qualified applicants must have legal status for employment in Canada or USA, and are able to travel to our operating facilities across Canada and USA.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Driving is an essential function of the job and applicants must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a Quality Inspector or similar role with a Bachelor’s Degree or 5-8 years experience with Associate or College Diploma.
  • Occasional work on holidays / extended hours.
  • Formal training or certificate in Quality from ASQ or Equivalent is a strong asset.
  • Experience in the Wind/Solar Energy Industry preferred.
  • Working in outdoor environments in occasionally inclement weather conditions.
  • Working at heights training and/or certification is an asset.
  • Up to 40% travel.
  • Self-starter and able to work independently when required.
