Job Description

PEG is looking for a Business Intelligence Developer to work with and support a dynamic team of consultants that train, implement, and customize project management software. There is potential for domestic and international travel.This is a hybrid full time work opportunity. Applicants must reside in Calgary


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Writing/Optimizing custom SQL (Queries, Triggers, Functions, Procedures) to support end user customizations / automations.
  • Creating/Updating dashboard and reports for MS SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI.
  • Customize front end interface elements using JavaScript/jQuery
  • Develop complex data migrations and integrations using APIs and scripting languages like PowerShell while working with a variety of data sources including direct database access, ftp file transfers (e.g. excel, csv, json...) and RESTful web services.
  • Troubleshoot issues
  • Working with clients and consultant team to understand and implement their technical requirements.

KEY SKILLS

While you must show efficiency in writing SQL queries and a solid understanding of database principles, you will also be surrounded by an experienced team of business analysts and technical consultants to mentor you in improving your technical capabilities and learn the industry.

Demonstrated ability to think critically when developing client solutions considering business processes and software capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience in business analytics development and/or database programming preferred.
  • The ability to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously to meet project deadlines for self and others as required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar field of study.
  • Must have demonstrated the ability to solve complex problems with minimal direction.
  • Strong data visualization skills.
  • Experience with Power BI or comparable business analytics tools is required.
  • Experience in SQL programming (MS SQL, MySQL); Proficiency in writing SQL queries with a solid understanding of database principles
