When you hear a problem - paths to solutions leap into your brain. You love using your strong analytical background and lending/risk management experience to help your team find solutions. You have a thorough understanding of relational data modelling systems and reporting requirements. You’re fluent in Power BI and other Business Intelligence (BI) tools and you work well with a broad group of people to clearly communicate every step of the way. This role is responsible for data engineering at the bank, which includes capturing information sources into a staging environment, integration and data quality processing, storing certified data in an operational Datawarehouse and producing data marts for report consumption.

What You’ll Do

• Use Power BI, Webfocus BI, excel, SSIS, MSSQL TSQL and associated tools to access and connect various data sources and business specific systems.
• Facilitate discussions with business and perform research on new data source information and tools available to the bank.
• Regularly inspect dashboards/information sources to ensure expected content and Assist with ensuring information is properly protected.
• Report to the Director, IT Operations.
• Review requests, collaborate with business users and vendors to elicit, standardize, define, and document requirements.
• Ensure end-end stewardship of requirements/changes. This includes communicating signed-off requirements to IT groups or vendors, managing changes to requirements, and ensuring any delivered solution adheres to the defined requirements.
• Use SQL and some scripting to securely obtain data from partners.

What You’ve Done

• You have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a financial institution.
• You have post-secondary education in Business Administration, Statistics or Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• You have experience with data engineering and experience scripting T-SQL in an MSSQL environment.
• You have an understanding of quantitative analytics, visualization tools (Power BI, Webfocus BI).
• You have experience with data/information/knowledge, business intelligence systems/approaches, data warehousing including reporting tools.
