Automation Engineer Jobs

Position

This is a full-time position. It has been created to assist our Engineering and Manufacturing team members in the design, fabrication, testing and commissioning of automated production system.

Responsibilities

• Create production monitoring devices and processes
• Machine and fabricate components
• Assist in plant automation upgrades and layout of new facilities and equipment
• Provide ongoing training and support
• Assemble, test, debug and commission new equipment
• Created documentation (standard operating, maintenance and troubleshooting procedures)
• Generate 3D CAD Models of mechanical parts and assemblies
• Generate CNC programs using CAM software for manufacturing purposes
• Other duties as requested by Mechanical Engineering Manager
• Manage projects and deliverables
• Design wiring and electrical systems (efficient and organized layout)
• Program PLCs, HMIs, Vision Systems and other auxiliary systems

• High Level Programming
• Good understanding and working knowledge of the following:
• Ladder Logic, FBD, SFC, ST and IS
• Mechanical Mechanisms
• Industrial Communication
• BSc Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics or Automation Engineering
• Mathematics / Statistics
• Materials Science
• Eligible to be registered as P.Eng with APEGA.
• Manufacturing Processes
• Electricity / Electronics
• Information Technology
• Robot Integration and Programming
• HMIs and Vision System

• Hands-on practical mechanical and electrical experience
• Strong computer skills in an MS Office environment
• 2 years minimum experience
• Experience with injection molding considered an asset
• Experience operating CNC mills and lathes considered an asset
• Writing reports and documentation
