About The Opportunity
Ensure the Cloud platform product is constantly improving by analyzing actual field deployment usage of the product and contributing relevant changes into the code base. This is a highly visible position and requires significant customer interaction as well as closely collaborating with Platform Engineering and Product teams to champion required enhancements and modifications to create best in class product offering.
The right candidate will possess proven software engineering skills. You are expected to be versatile and able to thrive in a dynamic environment. You are comfortable managing competing priorities and can bring order to ambiguous scenarios. Maturity, impeccable judgment, and the ability to influence and lead are essential to success in this role.
Responsibilities

• Work with the most dynamic and exciting open-source software projects today – Kubernetes (K8S), Helm, Openstack, Ansible, etc.
• Investigate and resolve issues reported during product verification and customer deployment.
• Provide in-depth technical engineering representation to customers as required during field events and understand root causes to improve product.
• Participate in all aspects of the software development process using agile development.
• Contribute to a highly available, carrier-grade platform that will be the platform of choice for highly distributed Edge solutions, including 5G, Industrial Automation and Augmented Reality.
• Using field deployment analysis, deliver high-quality system design recommendations and best practices.
• Work as part of a team focused on containerization and fault tolerant/carrier grade development.
• Work closely with Solutions Engineering team, and other field teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant technical experience in systems engineering, software, and network design.
• Contribution to the open-source community would be an asset.
• Experience with deployment tools (Ansible, Puppet, Shell Scripting).
• Clustered Storage Solutions - CEPH
• Networking and routing protocols
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture to deliver virtual and cloud application solutions.
• Virtual switching (OVS, OVS-DPDK)
• Excellent design and architecture skills to read code, Python, Go and C/C++. Etc. and review network designs.
• BSc / MSc degree (Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree).
• Linux networking
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Kubernetes networking
• Senior-level design experience delivering solutions on Linux software.
• Familiarity with iterative and agile/scrum software development processes.
• Experience with network management tools.
• Excellent customer relation skills.
• Software-defined networking (SDN)
• Exceptional team player who works well in collaborative environments.
• Datapath/packet processing software
• Experience leading a team of high-performance engineers.
• Strong experience with Networking Diagnostic Tools.
• Architecture and detailed design experience with containerized solutions and cloud-based technologies, including OpenStack.
