Job Description
This position reports to the Manager, Business Operations, and is responsible for providing administrative support and clerical services to an assigned area or team, to ensure effective and efficient administrative operations. Working cohesively with peers throughout Corix, this role maintains solid customer relationships by handling questions and concerns with speed and professionalism. The Administrative Assistant has strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail. They manage multiple tasks and responsibilities and are continuously re-prioritizing duties. This fast-paced office environment is the main hub for the operations team and with a positive attitude, the Utility Administrator encourages their team members to overcome obstacles to complete assignments.Department

The Corix team has an opportunity for a Administrative Assistant based in Victoria/Langford, BC. This position reports to the Manager, Business Operations, and is responsible for providing administrative support and clerical services to an assigned area or team, to ensure effective and efficient administrative operations. Working cohesively with peers throughout Corix, this role maintains solid customer relationships by handling questions and concerns with speed and professionalism. The Administrative Assistant has strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail. They manage multiple tasks and responsibilities and are continuously re-prioritizing duties. This fast-paced office environment is the main hub for the operations team and with a positive attitude, the Utility Administrator encourages their team members to overcome obstacles to complete assignments.


What You'll Do


  • Proactively contact customers regarding outstanding balances prior to forwarding any unpaid amounts to the City of Langford for collection on property taxes.
  • Work closely with the City of Langford Engineering and Building Department.
  • Receive and respond to 5 to 10 lawyer adjustment requests a day.
  • Process monthly credit card payments
  • Pull regular AR reports to clean up accounts and add finance charges before sending out statements via email and mail.
  • Process online banking payments daily
  • Contact homeowners via mail correspondence regarding completed extension projects and confirming that communication with the City of Langford.
  • Provide as-built information to contractors and developers.
  • Work closely with the public; serve customers in-person, by phone and email regarding utility billing and other requests e.g. new accounts, leak adjustments
  • Switch accounts over to new owners as possession dates approach.
  • Answer questions from contractors, builders, and new homeowners, sharing information on application requirements, fees and connection quotes.


Experience

  • 2 years related work experience in administrative support, accounting, billing, and/or customer relations


Education


  • High school diploma
