About The Role
The Accounting Manager, Billing plays a crucial role in managing Tecsys' revenue recognition, reviewing potential orders for customers, and order revenue management. This position leads a high performing team and ensures efficient information flow from the signing of an agreement to billings for both products and services, including the establishment of controls for billing and revenue recognition of all contract agreements.
Responsibilities

• Oversee the interim and year-end audits for the year-end process
• Review bookings and participate in month-end close activities.
• Ensure existence and execution of controls for billing of all contract agreements.
• Work with the team to review revenue - Work in Progress (WIP), Forecast, and Backlog.
• Ensure control of the order management process including billing for customer contracts, amendments, products, and services.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual internal and external reporting processes.
• Contribute to the development of accounting conclusions to support Tecsys' position on revenue recognition for multiple element arrangements.
• Prepare and approve accounting entries, reconciliations, and reports for revenue recognition.
• Drive the contract set-up process and order revenue management; ensure existent and proper execution of controls for revenue recognition.
• Manage a team of professionals covering recurring revenue billing, professional services billing, and hardware billing as well as revenue recognition.

Qualifications

• Strong data analysis skills.
• Ability to collaborate across and within different levels of the organization.
• Excellent at workload prioritization, resource management, and project management.
• Experience working in a software company is a big plus.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and billing experience.
• Experience in billing processes and systems.
• Proven capability to effectively manage cross-functional projects and deliverables.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), familiarity with ERP platforms and billing systems.
• 2+ years of experience leading a team.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
• Experience in operational revenue accounting or technical revenue accounting

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA designation
