WHAT IS THE ROLE?
- Identify and screen potential key accounts within the assigned sales territory.
- Develop, analyze and manage business plans related to customer database to effectively maintain and grow sales.
- Demonstrate our products and services directly, in person, to customers.
- Use consultative selling; convince customers that they need a product or service.
- Manage and maintain company assets, including company-provided vehicles, vehicle inventory, laptops and smartphones to minimize losses due to damage or loss of inventory.
- Collaborate with various departments to be an effective account manager (materials management, logistics, credit, marketing, technical services and customer service).
- Analyze and identify customers to target, define the criteria to be used to select customers, and create business plans to identify potential customers as well as products that do not yet fit into customers' current buying habits.
- Make sales outside and in person, so as to build a base of loyal customers in a specific geographical area, while strengthening the position or market share of the company in the territory.
- Identify the key roles on a construction project and understand the responsibilities and needs of each; get an appointment with first and mid-level decision makers within construction/industrial companies.
- Attend construction industry trade shows to build relationships and build a network of contacts.
- Use the time and territory management process, zoning a territory by potential customers and past sales, create/manage a daily schedule, and use sales productivity tools.
WHAT DO YOU NEED ?
- Some experience in reading and understanding construction documents is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to build engaged customer relationships and effectively implement strategic concepts.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Be able to build a base of potential clients and establish business relationships.
- Open to national and international mobility for career advancement.
- Demonstrated aptitude for cold calling in client offices and job sites is mandatory.
- Clear career prospects: not having held more than 2 positions with different companies in the last 5 years.
- Bilingual in French and English
- Be able to evolve both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous expertise in assisting the credit department in collecting outstanding monies from delinquent customer accounts preferred
- Hold a high school diploma or have passed a General Education Development (GED) test; preferably hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent in work experience
- Travel sales experience with proven success in growing sales to a loyal customer base in a designated geographic area, while building the company's position and market share in the designated territory
- Have computer skills, including the MS Office suite, and know how to use a smart phone.
- Possess excellent time and territory management skills.
- Previous experience preparing professional presentations and quotes for clients
- Be persuasive and sales and customer oriented, and work well in a team.
