Regular reporting on the payroll function into Senior Management, reconciliations and processing year end taxes.

Full cycle bi-weekly payroll, including terminations, setting up new hires and bonus/benefits calculations.

Accounts Payable including invoice processing and employee expense reimbursement.

Accounts Receivable duties including billing clients and generating invoices.

Responsible for the evaluation and development of designated staff; corrective action as required including performance management, coaching and recommending employee discipline.

Consults with Manager, Payroll on new processes and implements automation of systems to increase efficiencies.

Responsible for the payment of physician remuneration on a biweekly basis.

Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of employee severance calculations.

Provides or coordinates system support for Payroll module, along with liaison regarding timekeeping modules/systems.

3-5 years' experience and Payroll Certification required.

Experience with Ceridian Dayforce and Epicor would be an asset.

Remitting, reporting, and reconciling monthly union dues, garnishments, multiple G/L accounts, pension funds, and union benefits payments

Working closely with the Human Resources and Finance teams

Minimum 4 years of progressive payroll experience

Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification

Experience processing full cycle payroll for both union and non-union, hourly and salaried employees

Working-level knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations and guidelines, experience with US, UK is an advantage

Ensure employee records contain all required documentation (i.e. tax forms, contracts, proof of work eligibility, benefits forms etc.)

Prepare calculations for remittances such as EHT, WCB, benefits premiums etc.

Administer benefits enrollment, changes and terminations (Canada and US)

Respond to and provide guidance on general Payroll related inquiries (benefits, policies, time off etc.)

1-2 years of experience in a payroll environment, bonus points if you’ve worked at a tech company!

Manage monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

3+ years of overall general accounting experience

Practical knowledge of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne

Constantly improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

Compose Balance Sheet account reconciliations

Liaise with relevant parties regarding payroll, benefits, and leave management.

Support LTD claims and tax liabilities management.

Ensure accurate and timely payroll and benefit services for 200 employees.

Coordinate seamless payroll and benefit provisions.

Interpret and apply payroll, tax, benefit, and accounting rules.

Support compensation and benefits projects.

Post-Secondary diploma or degree in accounting/commerce/management or equivalent work experience

Who have exceptional customer service skills

Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar role

Accounting experience in a consumer packaged goods/distribution environment would be an asset

Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be preferred

Outstanding customer service skills and orientation

Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll, processing and tracking employee benefits, and ensuring compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements

At least 2-3 years of experience in payroll and accounting

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
