Relevant Post-Secondary education in HSE is an asset

5+ years of field safety experience, preferably in a construction environment

Manage the department budget and create reports on expenses, services, safety inspections, and downtime statistics.

Manage all maintenance projects, including PM Program and Equipment Upgrade/Overhaul and evaluate them regularly.

Manage environmental, health, and safety activities through strong leadership, communication, motivation and direction of the safety committee

Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Strong Organizational skills and Detail Oriented

Advanced MS Excel skills creating pivot tables, databases, graphs/charts.

Assist in the improvement & development of management system procedures and forms, in line with applicable standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001)

Assist with WSIB claims management and return to work planning

Onboard and mentor all new and existing employees with health, safety and environmental responsibilities and expectations

Ensure that project first aid and emergency response resources are in place and meet regulatory requirements

Participate in continuing education initiatives to ensure skills and abilities continue to meet the needs of our agile environment

Advanced technical skills with regard to using office equipment (fax, scan, copy) and knowledge of office equipment and IT systems

Manage all Nucleus correspondence, such as mail, referrals, faxes and other methods of communication.

Managing Nucleus’ supply chain for personal protective equipment, including developing value-add reports for the Senior Team’s information requirements

Will coordinate and execute Board Meeting ancillary requirements, such as dinner coordination, and clean up after any in person meetings

Will manage the Board’s and Committee’s annual workplan process, with tracking, to ensure timely delivery of action items

Knowledgeable in project management methodologies and able to provide day-to-day oversight of external consultants/contractors/stakeholders and execute projects;

A strong communicator with excellent facilitation and leadership skills;

Resourceful with strong research and writing skills;

Supporting CVRD corporate climate action initiatives in relation to achieving carbon neutrality and GHG reduction targets;

Updating, monitoring and implementing the Corporate Energy and Emissions Plan (CEEP) and the annual corporate energy emissions inventory;

Collaborating with internal staff from a variety of departments to develop and implement work plans related to CEEP initiatives;

Assist management with root cause analysis (RCA) investigation.

Assist with the development of training and education programs for staff around HSE.

Work with the plant manager to ensure all HSE and Sun Gro trainings are completed.

Manage documents on HSE share point and safety metrics.

Lead and manage documents for JHSC monthly and weekly meetings.

Knowledge of workplace requirements, legislation and compliance (E, HS).

Demonstrated strong organizational skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities.

Experience working in a related role.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts (CIL).

Build mutually respectful and constructive relationships with project management teams, clients and front-line workers.

Works with management team to develop and maintain Project HSE Plans, Job Hazard Analyses and orientation programs.

Ensures that incident investigations are completed in a timely manner and corrective actions are communicated to Senior Management and appropriate stakeholders

Audits the Bird Health, Safety and Environmental Management System to ensure the overall integrity of the system is maintained;

Participates in the recruitment, onboarding and performance management of HSE Advisors on project sites.

And; Collaborate with management to identify areas where safety improvements can be made.

Possess the safety attitude to sustain the safety culture from the front line to the supervisors to management;

Experience in coaching and developing employee’s knowledge and ability to deliver on QEHS expectations;

Lead annual maintenance and recertification safety audits for Certification of Recognition (COR);

5-7 years of experience in Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental role, preferably in the oil and gas sector;

Proficient in managing pre-qualification registries (ISNetworld, Avetta, CQ Network, CanQual);

Participate in continuing education initiatives to ensure skills and abilities continue to meet the needs of our agile environment

Responsible for the day-to-day administration and management of the site Environmental Health and Safety (EHS).

Strong communication skills, ability to interact with senior level clients including corporate management teams and institutional investors within Corporate Access

Expertise with event management tools (Ipreo, Salesforce, Q4)

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

Knowledge of the Financial Markets industry, specifically sales, trading and investment banking.

A strong team player with the ability to self-manage

4-6 years’ relevant experience, preferably in an underground hard rock mine.

Maintain a valid Driver’s License; manual transmission experience an asset.
