Role Summary:

Flowserve is looking for an Onsite Maintenance & Health and Safety Environmental Coordinator! This position is responsible for safety, health and environmental programs and their related activities. The Safety Representative will ensure compliance with all established SHEA programs and maintain compliance with location and Flowserve standards; at the same time, he/she is responsible for managing all the activities related to equipment and facility maintenance.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Ensure all environmental reports submitted accurately and on time about air, stormwater and sanitary sewer discharge permits
• Coordinate emergency evacuation procedures, training, and practice drills
• Conduct monthly workplace safety audits and establish measurable standards from which further recommendations (continuous improvement) can be made, with effective follow-up
• Conduct a rigorous incident investigation process focused on prevention, root cause analysis and injury prevention leading indicators
• Manage environmental, health, and safety activities through strong leadership, communication, motivation and direction of the safety committee
• Support the capital and engineering projects; FAT, installation, SAT, training and commissioning of the new equipment, systems and machinery.
• Manage relationships and contracts with external vendors, OEMs and service providers including quotations, POs, invoices, payments, scope of works, scheduling and etc.
• Manage the department budget and create reports on expenses, services, safety inspections, and downtime statistics.
• Supervise the external vendors and OEMs when they are working on the site to manage the agreed scope of the work and roadblocks.
• Work closely with AP to ensure that all vendors and critical contractors are getting paid accurately and timely based on the scope of the work and service reports.
• Serve as co-chair on the Joint Health and Safety Committee and help to coordinate activities, recommendations, and accountability of issues identified by the Safety regulations and Flowserve corporate audits
• Plan and oversee all repairs, regular PMs and installation activities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement within the maintenance department and lead or participate in improvement initiatives.
• Develop and administer New Hire Orientation Safety Training Investigate and maintain records for all work-related injuries and/or illnesses, provide statistical analysis, and assist department management in the development of effective health and safety countermeasures to continuously improve safety objectives
• And any other duties assigned
• Work closely with Manufacturing Manager to ensure that we support emergency repairs and regular services in the facility. This may include servicing the building, stationary equipment and any other facility-related equipment or systems.
• Coordinate safety training for all employees in the areas of Safety, Health & Environmental matters
• Work closely with production and scheduler to plan overhauls and services with minimum interruption in production schedules.
• Manage all maintenance projects, including PM Program and Equipment Upgrade/Overhaul and evaluate them regularly.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience within Health, Safety and Environmental .
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong Organizational skills and Detail Oriented
• Knowledge of federal, provincial and regional regulations related to Health and Safety.
• Experience with compliance audits and documentation .
• Advanced MS Excel skills creating pivot tables, databases, graphs/charts.
• BS Degree in a relevant field and 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Experience dealing with authorities related to Health and Safety Environmental (e.g. Ministry of Labor).
• Background in industrial manufacturing
