Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that parts required for the Maintenance Department are in inventory and replenished as required. Each team member shares in the responsibility for establishing and maintaining a professional working environment that is committed to customer service, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.


  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers
  • Order tools and machinery inventory parts
  • Distribute Preventative Maintenance Schedule – Coordinate the preventative maintenance schedule with the field teams, generate and distribute the schedule(s), amend and track changes as may be required.
  • Helps processing department with engineering projects, i.e. product loss calculations, tracing/labeling of all process lines
  • Work in a safe manner understanding all industry safety rules and requirements
  • Owns and trains department in Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
  • Process Maintenance Work Orders – Issue routine and corrective work orders, track to ensure timely completion, close out work orders and bring forward outstanding items or anomalies as required.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Organize, maintain and secure work tools
  • Clean, organize and maintain work area through 5S inventory system
  • Conduct Training and Information Sessions - Provide training and or information on the CMMS program for maintenance team members.
  • Coordinate Job Plan Amendments – Receive job plan updates, input changes into the system, issue and communicate changes to field teams.
  • Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for Maintenance and Operations
  • Acts as a Maintenance Clerk mentor and back up for the following functions:
  • Maintain equipment inventory – Data entry for new and existing equipment, generate labels and update maintenance schedules or job plans.
  • FACILITES
  • Maintains maintenance MSDS information
  • Coordinate with 3rd party stakeholders to schedule the repairs/services in timely manner.
  • Develop machine specific training and tracks training progress.
  • Generate Reports - Generate customized, standard and ad-hoc reports, ensuring they are issued within required time frames (generate reports for Audits).
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the Maintenance Department

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in CMMS software an advantage
  • Knowledge of GMP and HACCP programs an asset
  • Proactive with strong customer service orientation
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Post-Secondary education preferably in a field related to Maintenance
  • 1+ years’ experience in a similar/related role
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and follow instruction
  • Interest in the following: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, piping systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and PLC programming
  • Experience in a Food Manufacturing or related Food Industry environment an asset
