Reporting to the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager

Responsible for reviewing software requirements

Full-time position for a duration of 5 months

Writing, executing, and maintaining test cases for Hiring Company Financial software

Write, execute, and maintain test cases

Salary: Up to $130,000 CAD + exceptional benefits package

Experience in code testing and automation systems

Relevant experience of trading applications within Front Office

Strong coding skills in Python

Hands on testing, maintaining, and coordinating of software applications

Identify any issues in the software and provide detailed reports to the development team

Knowledge in C++, scripting experience

5 + years of experience in manual and automated testing of front office connectivity / trading applications

Experience in Python on Linux and databases, developing automation scripts for applications

Prior experience working in one or more of following areas will be strongly preferred:

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Minimum of 3 years of working experience with “IT-related” projects, and preferably with involving hardware.

Troubleshooting experience from other technical domains like, for example, QC or Customer Support is more than welcomed.

Knowledge of tools like Confluence, Test Rail, and JIRA is recommended.

Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for both hardware and software products.

Knowledge of the software development life cycle, experience using bug tracking and test case management tools

Responsible for Defect Management: reporting, tracking, troubleshooting bugs and issues using applicable processes and tools

University degree in Computer Science is preferred or equivalent experience and ongoing education related to Quality Assurance and software development

Some travel across Canada may be required for meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management.

5+ years of software QA and test automation experience in a .Net environment

Hands-on experience with testing a broad range of custom and COTS software solutions, including web, mobile and SaaS applications

Effective written and verbal communication skills including English, ability to communicate and manage expectations with clients

College Diploma or Business Certificate Finance or Accounting an asset

Experience with financial data, accounting or auditing experience

This role requires the candidate to be fluent in French and English

The Canada Acceleration Centre (CAC) services all Canadian time zones, therefore business hours will vary and overtime is required

This role doesn’t support completion of the Canadian CPA designation

Experience with test management systems such as SpiraTest or XRay

Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) would be an asset

3+ years of experience in software development QA

Experience working with one or more of the following databases MS SQL and Oracle

Experience with test case generation for both manual and automated testing

Experience building automated test cases using TestComplete, JMeter, SQL, Java, JS, and Jenkins.

Experience with the Jira requirements management system

Experienced with test management and defect tracking tools and associated reports

Identify test requirements from product specifications and develop, document and maintain functional automated test cases to cover those requirements

Experience writing clear test cases

Experience with the Git software revision control system

Experience in Fintech, Travel, Ecommerce

Develop test plans, test cases, test scripts and test reports based on the requirements.

Review user requirement documents to ensure the new features are testable.

Minimum 5 years of experience in testing complex enterprise web based applications.

Solid knowledge of sanity, smoke and regression testing procedures.

Quality Assurance/Business Analyst – Mandatory Skills

Knowledge and experience with existing requirements management, test plan design, bug tracking, ticketing, and Agile project management systems

University degree or College diploma with specialization in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management or related discipline

Previous experience or exposure to our internal applications (BDI, CRM, CPL) OR

DEC or DEP or any working experience related to quality assurance.

Strong written and oral communication skills in English (French is an asset).

- Proven experience in software testing and quality assurance, including test planning, test execution, and defect management

- Familiarity with defect tracking systems and test management tools

- Must have foundation-level certification in QA such as ISTQB foundation, CSTE, CAST, CTFL, and CSQA

- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices

- Proficiency in manual and automated testing techniques and tools

- Ability to write and maintain automated test scripts
