Quality Assurance Business Analyst

Opportunity Details

LeverageTek is actively seeking a Quality Assurance Business Analyst for a 12-month contract with its Ottawa-based customer.

Work Location

Remote or hybrid at the customer headquarters in Ottawa, ON.

Key Tasks

QA Operations:

• Investigate and document repro steps for customer complaints and non-conformance issues
• Stay up to date with emerging QA technologies and best practices
• Apply established metrics to determine the readiness, quality, and operability of software, systems, and products due for release to members and/or within the enterprise
• Create and execute test plans and scripts that will validate application/system performance according to specifications
• Collaborate with other Technology Solutions teams in application testing, such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods
• Use existing ticketing systems to manage ticket status and tracking
• Conduct internal audits to measure and assure adherence to established QA standards for software development, application integration, and information system performance, and corresponding documentation
• Suggest solutions to resolve product quality issues and achieve improved customer satisfaction
• Participate in continuous improvement projects
• Ensure that software quality measures comply with industry standards and accepted best practices and drive a quality-first approach to software development and delivery
• Identify quality assurance process bottlenecks and suggest actions for improvement

Business Analysis:

• Provide high-level quality client services to both internal and external clients by responding in a timely, respectful, constructive and responsive matter
• Clearly communicate and document all business decisions, requirements, workflows, and other needed project documentation
• Create user stories and acceptance tests and develop product documentation
• Represent, interface and engage with business users to understand their needs

Key Qualifications

• University degree or College diploma with specialization in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management or related discipline
• Strong communication skills with ability to handle multiple concurrent projects
• 2+ years experience in Quality Assurance and/or Business Analysis or IT-related projects

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse personality types
• Knowledge and experience with existing requirements management, test plan design, bug tracking, ticketing, and Agile project management systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Member/client/stakeholder focus
• Strategic thinking; creative, innovative and collaborative out of the box thinker
• Knowledge of project management methodologies, specifically Agile SCRUM
