Job Purpose
The Truss Designer is responsible for making the customers vision into reality by creating designs based on the customer's needs.
This position reports directly to Plant Manager and works closely with the Sales team out of our Truss location in Vancouver, Washington. A full-time schedule is typically Monday-Friday from 7am to 5pm with an hour lunch break.
Starting at $24.48 to $28.60 depending on experience.
Duties And Responsibilities

• Designing truss' that conform to building requirements and codes
• Read and interpret blueprints provided by customers
• Maintains detailed records and reports of related information on a job to job basis
• Visits with job site supervisors to ensure any issues that arise are resolved properly
• Collaborates with the sales team and others as necessary
• Creates designs for all assigned jobs based on the plan and quote specifications provided by the customer and sales team

Qualifications
Qualifications Include:

• Ability to read blueprints
• Must have reliable transportation
• 1 year of prior experience within the construction industry
• Knowledgeable in the construction industry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Understanding of engineering fundamentals
• Must be able to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job
• Must be able to type 40+ WPM
• Previous experience in a similar job
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Strong math skills
• Knowledgeable in working with design software

• Must maintain confidentiality and accuracy of all information related to company finances and records, particularly, cost of goods purchased and sold

Working Conditions
The primary working conditions for this position are in an office environment with a computer.
