Position: Technical Lead / Technology Specialist

Location: Brampton, ON (Hybrid)

Contract: 6-12+ months

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and execute test plans and scripts and co-ordinate the execution with business subject matter experts, with scripts/code subject to review of City staff
• Serve as a functional source of expertise in supporting the maintenance and/or development of process improvements and changes. Perform benchmarking exercises to help determine the future/strategic direction of the systems
• Solid Analytical skills for complex problem-solving. Familiarity with integrating enterprise-level solutions
• Work with developers and testers on issue resolution and re-testing
• Present, explain, and validate analysis with clients to ensure the proposed solution meets their business needs
• Perform business analysis or troubleshooting while working with clients to gather business requirements, determine the fit/gap in the planning and development of new or to-be-updated system functionality and/or related business processes  Evaluate business needs to develop an understanding of true requirements, and translate into functional specifications
• Prepare reference documentation, training materials, etc.
• Communicate and coordinate the implementation of necessary business and systems changes, based on creating the necessary requests and following the City’s change management processes
• Prepare specifications, complete tasks and work with developers and other technical staff to properly implement technology solutions

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

• Minimum five 8-10 years experience in developing, integrating, and managing corporate applications and at least three (3) years specifically with Infrastructure / Work Management applications
• Experience working with the end user and in-field devices such as laptops, iPads, sensors, and or mobile phones
• University degree/diploma in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience in training end users and operational staff in coordination with project team members and the Training Specialist
• Three (5) to five (7) years of experience working with a variety of infrastructure/asset management/work management solutions. Preference for Cityworks, Assetworks Fleet Management (M5), Facility Management, GIS, and sensor-based (IoT) systems.
