JOB DESCRIPTION

The Event Design Specialist will be responsible for providing key support in the area of event design. With genuine curiosity and a critical eye towards design, this person will work with all areas of the organization to bring creativity to Bespoke’s event production. The Event Design Specialist will support the Production and Sales teams by developing design ideas, pre- visualizing solutions for clients and collaborating to ensure successful event execution. Reporting to the Director of Creative Services, the Event Design Specialist will spend time in the office, tele-commuting and on events. This position comprises an average 40-hour workweek with the expectation that flexible hours and overtime will occur.

Key Duties

Event Design

• Design ideas.
• Ideate & develop concepts for use on live events.
• Design & draw creative event solutions including:
• Work with Sales & Production Mangers to understand client needs & offer intentional

o Stage & scenic designs

o Audio visual system layouts

o Lighting system designs

o Structure layouts

o Event space & seating layouts

• In conjunction with Production, ensure quality and accuracy of design during installation.
• Participate in post event follow ups with Production, Operations, and Sales teams.
• Maintain the quality and intention of the design through participation in updates and change orders.
• Collaborate with Production Managers to ensure required elements to support designs are accurately quoted at the initial phase of proposals and through revisions.
• Develop renders and concept imagery to visually convey design ideas to fellow team members & clients.
• Liaise with clients directly or in conjunction with team members to encourage the idea of a strong overall team able to support any project with any team member.
• Work with Production and Technical team members to create install plans, line drawings, patch sheets, and paperwork packages to support successful event execution.

Creative Development & Growth

• Maintain contacts with supplier partners for outsourced elements.
• Research new and creative ways of staging events.
• Maintain library of venue floor plans and 3D models.
• Provide coaching & guidance on use of design software tools to fellow team members.
• Consult on capital expenditures for creative elements and technical equipment.
• Expand & tailor Vectorworks symbol library for company use.
• Champion company standards for drawings, communication, renders, etc.
• Schedule & oversee regular photography sessions of events for archival and marketing
• Collaborate regularly with Production, Sales, Digital & Technical team members.

Key Requirements

• 3 years minimum experience in live event production
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• 2 years minimum event design experience
• Strong ability to collaborate with teams and work independently as required
• Must be able to work well under pressure with shifting priorities and deadlines
• Experience drawing with Vectorworks
• Strong communication and time management skills

Additional Terms

• Reports To: Director of Creative Services

Working Conditions

• Travel required
• Combination of office/work from home

Total Compensation

• Total Compensation ranges between $55,000 to $68,000 and includes:
• Performance Incentives
• Base Salary
