Cascadia Metals is currently accepting resumes for a full-time Regional Logistics Specialist to work out of our Hamilton branch. This role will oversee multiple locations, and the successful candidate will be responsible for setting up new locations as we expand and grow.

Responsibilities:

• Various other duties as may be required
• Sales Inquiries
• Create and issue purchase orders (keeping the system up to date regarding incoming ocean freight)
• Process commercial invoices for payments
• Breakbulk parcels,
• Work closely with Sales & Operations for the seamless movement of cargo from origin to destination
• Create/ update new or existing IDS
• Obtain, process & distribute ocean carrier invoices/ documentation
• Update SteelPlus PO Line Notes to affect amounts produced/shipped and ETA Vancouver port
• For on Doc Charge (i.e., THC) to "first place of rest."
• Liaise with Mill / Origin agent to obtain material cargo readiness dates.
• Inventory Control
• Annual Service Contracts (container and trucking companies for dedicated routes for Ontario East) with Cascadia Metals
• To accept inbound parcels in full
• Coordinate the set-up of new suppliers/ vendors in SteelPlus and with accounting.
• Distribute supplier/mill shipping documentation internally
• Update PO to reflect amounts produced & container vessel booking details
• Investigate / Mitigate Damage & Detention Claims with Carriers
• Problem Solve overages & shortages (identified at discharge port) with all parties in the Supply Chain (i.e., Mill, Carrier & Port Terminals)
• Purchasing
• Negotiate with land carriers;

Qualifications:

• Experience with capacity, logistics planning, and order processes
• Must have at least 2 yrs of Canadian logistics experience
• Post-Secondary education in contract administration, business administration and supply chain fields.
• Excellent computer skills; comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word and ability to learn specialized inventory software
• Extremely well organized, able to work independently or as a team with a high level of initiative and flexibility and willingness to take on new tasks
• Strong communication skills: excellent command of English (oral and written)
• Self-motivated & able to problem solve within a fast-paced, constantly changing plant environment
