Omnivex is looking for an entry level Technical Support Engineer with excellent analytical skills and a hunger to learn. The Support Engineer will support our On-Prem and Cloud based products. This is a great opportunity for anyone with a strong interest in DevOps or Software Engineering. You will have the opportunity to grow your career in a dynamic and fast paced environment and work with some of the best technical talent in the GTA.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with QA and Development teams to provide assistance in identifying and resolving product defects
- Monitor and respond to internal and external support inquiries via email, forums and telephone
- Complete regular customer contact campaigns, through phone and email, in order to unearth any latent technical issues and ensure they are having a positive user experience
- Work with customers and partners, both proactively and reactively, in order to onboard them and address their technical support issues
- Duplicate technical support issues in the lab
- Participate in emergency after hours on-call support rotation
- Log support incident activity
Secondary Responsibilities:
- De-commission PCs and notebooks
- Set up PCs and notebooks for new hires
- Support Deployment automation pipelines for various environments
- Support the internal IT infrastructure
- Procure IT equipment
- Troubleshoot employees’ desktop and notebook PCs
Competencies/Skills:
- Query languages
- Familiarity with troubleshooting in a Microsoft environment; preferably including:
- Azure
- SQL Server
- A keen interest in learning and developing into a customer-focused technical resource for our Cloud and On-Prem products
- ELK Stack
- Windows Server
- Familiarity using remote desktop troubleshooting Software
- IronPython/.NET
- Windows
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, problem solving and analytical skills, interpersonal and collaboration skills
