Purpose of Role:
We are currently looking for a Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Specialist to join our growing Human Resources (HR) team. Under the direction of the HR Manager, the person in this role will be responsible for supporting the hiring managers in the recruitment process and ensuring proper setup and onboarding of new hires. Ultimately, they will help maintain a unified hiring and onboarding process, and ensure that we recruit and retain high-performing employees.
Please note all offers of employment are conditional upon obtaining a government of Canada security clearance to the level required by the function. The candidate must be a Canadian citizen and have lived in Canada for a minimum of 10 consecutive years.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure new hires have completed all required onboarding tasks.
- Prepare job postings to be published on the company website, job boards and social media in French and English.
- Manage the employee referral program.
- Screen candidate resumes considering the needs of the hiring manager, conduct pre-screening interviews if required, and participate in interviews as requested by the hiring manager.
- Support the hiring managers in planning and executing the recruitment strategy by using innovative methods to identify and attract high quality candidates.
- Collaborate with co-workers on continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
- Setup new hires in the HR management software.
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
- Produce talent acquisition reports and tracking progress to ensure targets are met, and review progress reports with HR and hiring managers as required.
- Take ownership of onboarding administrative tasks, initiatives, and inquiries.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- Experience using a HR management software, such as Workday
- Highly motivated team player working towards company goals
- Result-oriented, resourceful, self-motivated, self-sufficient, creative and extremely organized and very strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a related position
- Fluently bilingual (English and French), both written and spoken
- Proficiency using the MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
- College or university degree in HR or a related field
- Knowledge of HR legislations, policies and procedures is a definite asset
