Systems Administrator, Junior

The Junior System Administrator is responsible for day to day tasks and activities, Service Now Tickets, and all servers that are assigned to them. They are also responsible for updating and completing project activities and ad-hoc assignments as required.

Performance Expectations

• Look for ways to reduce costs and enhance productivity throughout Linamar, proposing any suggestions to management
• Manage servers in a Windows Active Directory environment (As assigned).
• Coordinate with development/support teams to schedule and install software releases as needed
• Monitor systems for alerts and abnormal behaviour
• Administration of our Microsoft O365 Environment
• Work to ensure that each server has 100% SLA.
• Restoring files, folder and systems as necessary
• Ensure that all servers meet Linamar’s security policies
• Ensure that the Daily/Weekly/Monthly tasks are completed
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
• Updating and Maintaining Linamar’s Active Directory
• Updating and Maintaining all relevant System Documentation
• Respond to Service Now Incidents as assigned within required SLA’s

On-Call Availability Is Required

Credentials

• Office 365
• Active Directory/Authentication
• Windows 10/11
• Proven ability to read and interpret technical and non-technical documents.
• Virtual Server Technologies with Hyper-V
• Azure
• TCP/IP/DNS/DHCP/ADFS/SMB
• Experience with the following is an asset:
• Powershell
• Degree or diploma in Computer Science from a recognized university or college is preferred
• Windows 2012/2016/2019/2022 Server
• An MCP certification is preferred

• Must be able to problem solve and multi-task in high pressure down time situations.
• Able to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate on a both a technical and non-technical level.
