General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada is one of Canada’s leading defence and security technology engineering companies with a worldwide reputation for excellence in the design and development of integrated solutions for land, airborne, maritime, and cyber applications. We are currently hiring for a Junior Systems Analyst to join our Acoustics team. This position follows a Hybrid working model with a mix of home and on-site work (minimum 3 days/week).

The responsibilities and range of activities will vary, but in general will include:

• Develop, document, and review system designs and use cases, define system interfaces, and conduct analyses with support from lead and other senior engineers.
• Identify, investigate and document defects, and verify solutions.
• Share knowledge and skills with other team members.
• Management of requirement mapping to test cases.
• Execute formal and informal test procedures, gather appropriate measures and data, analyze and interpret test data, and prepare test reports.
• Develop and maintain automated test tools and scripts.
• Deliver presentations to GDMS-C management and customers.
• Prepare requirements documents and specifications.
• Build, configure, and validate test environments.
• Assist in planning and coordinating test activities
• Develop Integration and Test Plans and Procedures, including configuration descriptions and expected outcomes.
• Support external test events and field trials

Education and Experience

• Related technical degree/diploma supplemented with applicable experience will be considered
• Enthusiastic contributor, willing to learn new skills, and takes pride and ownership of work.
• Strong communication skills, problem solving and analysis skills, and attention to detail.
• Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Working knowledge of MS Office suite tools including Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
• Curiosity into how things work and why.
• Excellent communication abilities (written and verbal).

Assets

• Use of a problem reporting tool (RTC, ClearQuest)
• Knowledge and use of Algorithmic and signal processing software
• Experience in defining, developing, and executing system tests for complex functionality
• 1 year of practical experience, relevant co-op or internship with a focus on integration and verification at a system level (design, development, and verification).
